Driving down I 87 N from Western ave to Latham. There’s a u turn after exit 2a I believe and twice now a trooper was sitting there pointing some type of radar gun out his window. I didn’t get any Ka band or laser either time. I have an R4w. Maybe he wasn’t shooting at me and that’s why I didn’t get the alert for the laser? Or is there something new out there?

Do they only use radar or laser? Every time I travel out to Boston down I 90E from Albany once I hit mass my R4 does not go off for Ka. Atleast I think that’s the case. I have passed numerous mass state police and nothing. Multiple of them just sitting and not one chirp from the R4. Works fine in NY when I’m traveling back. The R4 is up to date and I have the R4 companion app as well. Any wisdom from the radar world is appreciated.
