Annoying Loud Beeping Issue Located (Long Post)

I tried to post on Switch2 subreddit but it was removed from not having enough karma so I am posting here. I am making post here for awareness because I could not find any other post about this issue on the switch 2. On to the post…

Hello! I am so happy to be making this post here because I feel like I have been going CRAZY for months. I just found out TODAY where a very loud and very annoying vibration plus beeping noise that wakes me up at like 4am and goes on for anywhere between a few seconds to 5 minutes. I could not for the life of me locate the source of the noise until this morning when I had my switch 2 docked to my bedroom tv. IF ANYONE HAS EXPERIENCED THIS NOISE YOU ARE NOT GOING CRAZY. I did NOT know the joycons were even CAPABLE of making this noise. I attached a video of how I reproduced this noise but believe me when it naturally happens, it is a lot louder and a lot more annoying.

Alright now for the context! So I have a day 1 switch 2, stood in line for hours at the midnight release so as fresh off the press as it can get. Naturally I understand that there are issues that can happen with day 1 devices which is why I am thankful I purchased a warranty and I am going to get it switched out (heh) today.

For the past 3-4 months, the joycons would not stay connected to the switch 2 console while in handheld mode. It wouldn’t stay disconnected for long, like it would randomly pull up the ‘connect controller’ screen right in the middle of the game and I would have to detach and reattach the joycon to even try to connect it. It was a slight annoyance but not annoying enough to get it checked out just yet. It was happening a bit more frequently like 2-3 times a week the past few months and I was going to go make a claim on the warranty but life got busy and I delayed. Honestly I think it is a faulty rail on the left joycon.

ALRIGHT so here comes the part about why I am making this post today! I guess with the faulty rail that seemingly randomly disconnects… I guess when the switch 2 is idle and the joycon disconnects from connection to the switch 2, it seems like the switch 2 will try to ‘locate’ the ‘missing’ joycon. Hence the annoying freaking noise. The only reason I can even try to duplicate this noise (nobody would ever believe me if I didn’t) is that when I found out that the joycon was doing its crack of dawn beeping nonsense and through searching through the controller settings that there is a locate feature for the joycons. If you go to the place where you connect controllers on the system and hold the icon of one of the joycons, it will start making a not so annoying beep + vibration. WHICH IS WHAT I AM EXPERIENCING BUT WAY LOUDER AND A LOT STRONGER OF A VIBRATION.

I am sorry for the long post but you cannot believe the joy I have locating this issue that wakes me up between 4am-8am and I could not locate the noise for the life of me FOR MONTHS because I did not know the switch 2 was capable of making this noise. If anyone else has experienced this, I want to assure you that you have not gone crazy. I swear nobody would believe me if I didn’t have proof of the noise…
