I can't power cycle my switch and I want to contact Nintendo Support but the bar code on the bottom is rubbed off. What do I do?

I tried holding the Power and Volume rocker. Do I have to let it die and retry again? or what do I DO?! I was playing the new Fortnite Season and... my cat knocked it off and it was the image you see here. They want the bottom barcode number. IDK what to do. HELP ME!

I just replaced my joystick and the brand new one I got is doing this. I used the one everyone recommended. Help.

I'll reply with what stick I used, but it's the one I saw everyone saying you should use as a replacement. Please tell me I don't need to open this up again, it took me 3 hours and my hands hurt.

Is the switch 2 worth it for a very casual gamer?

Hi everyone. I am looking at getting a switch for my girlfriend when she moves for school. She’ll mostly just be playing games like stardew valley, animal crossing, Minecraft etc. Is it worth it to get the switch 2? Will a non gamer really notice a big difference? I also wouldn’t mind saving the extra money.

Any good switch 1 holder for gaming in bed?

Hey, everyone! I got a Switch recently and gaming is bed is so comfortable, but I was trying to find a holder for my switch screen so I could play narrative games without holding it constantly.

The best example that I could find is in the comments, but something like that would be amazing for playing visual novels. I don’t have a bunk bed, but I was trying to find a holder like that that you can connect to the wall, maybe? With a flexible cable that can hold the screen while you play with the joysticks unattached.

Am I fucked? Screen not turning off

(Switch 1) So in the past I’ve had an issue where I had to constantly reconnect my controllers to play on my switch multiple times in the span of maybe 20 minutes. And when I was playing today I had to a few more times than usual and when I tried to again the controllers didn’t connect, I was stuck on this screen and now nothing is working. I can’t power it off, or connect my controllers.

Question about Virtual game card sharing

I have a Switch 2 and a buddy of mine has Xenoblade 1 (Switch 1 version)

If I wanna borrow his virtual game card and play the upgraded S2 version, do i need to buy the upgrade on my account or does he need to buy it?

Looking for advice on what's best

Looking for advice. My son has the old style switch (1, not oled). His sister put it in the paddling pool years ago and it stopped working. Hes gone through his old stuff and powered it back on after a few years and its working again but won't read any game cards, I presume its corroded. Does anyone know it'll be cheaper to send it off to Nintendo for repair or just buy a 2nd hand one from vinted? Or would it be better to buy the digital games?

Many thanks.

V-Bucks disappeared from my Switch

I mainly play Fortnite on my PS5, but a month or two ago I had gone on my Nintendo Switch, and remembered that the V-Bucks on there was not connected to my PlayStation‘s V-Bucks. That last time I looked, I saw I had 950 V-Bucks. I figured I would buy the Battle Pass on my switch so that I essentially had most of it transferred over. But for whatever reason, when I went on my switch just 5 minutes ago, I only had 150 V-Bucks. I tried reloading the game, and want to know if this is a glitch that might have happened to someone else or if I should go and contact support.

im not familiar with how different outlets affect electronics i just know that different outlets have different voltage.

Anyone know how easy it is to reconnect the ribbon cables on an OLED Joycon?

I was planning on selling my Scarlet Violet Switch OLED and set it out on my counter so I didn't forget it, and then my cat knocked it onto the floor. Its totally fine and functional, but the top of the left-hand joycon came off. Everything is totally intact from what I can see, but the ribbon cables are still attached to the top piece.

Is that an easy repair that I can knock out myself or does that need to be sent in somewhere?

Game sharing across users/consoles?

For years a friend and I have shared purchases across two different Switch consoles. This is something that we've continued onto our Switch 2s but recently we've run into an issue when trying to play games that have any online functionality, first Splatoon Raiders, and now the Duskbloods Network Test.

I know that there were some changes made to the Virtual Game Cards system that were made in effort to squash some of this behavior, but I'm curious if there's a known work around to restore the same functionality. We're at a point now where if we both try to launch the same game one of us inevitably gets disconnected with a message saying that the game is being used on another system. Previously there were changes that we made to the Online License system that allowed us to play Silksong at the same time, but I'm curious as to whether or not this functionality will allow us to both load the Duskbloods Network test at the same time.

Any information/direction/support is appreciated. Thanks.

Does the switch 2 have a save storage cap? What is it?

I can't find answers for this anywhere bit does anyone know what the switch 2's save game data cap is? I know it was capped at 2gb for the switch 1 but did they increase it for switch 2 or does it vary by game or what?

Is the switch 1 digital store available on the switch 2?

This is probably a dumb question but I have never owned a switch. I want to buy a switch 2 for my daughter for xmas but I have heard the switch 2 library is underwhelming. I know switch 2 can play switch 1 games but is the switch 1 library of digital games available for purchase on switch 2?

I would rather buy her physical games but for now I do not trust that she would not lose the games.

Can’t get access to parental controls account

On multiple switches we have parental controls set up but the email that’s set up with the parent account dosent exist due to it being an old work email. With my son buying his switch with his own money I thought I’d let him take off the controls but we have no way to. We also don’t know the pin to the switch. Every time we ask Nintendo for help they say we need to find old bank statements to prove our identity but our bank dosent have any of them for some reason.

My switch 1 keeps turning on and off while charging

I haven't used my switch 1 for about a week while on vacation, now i'm trying to charge it but every time it's plugged in it just show an icon in the top left for a second, turns off and then turns on to show the same icon, leading to a loop.

I've removed the sd card, game cartridge and when i force reset by holding the power button it just goes to the nintendo logo and then goes back to the loop.

Edit: more info, the switch has been charching for a while but it's not taking any charge in, my charger is the official switch 2 charger and it also is working normally with my switch 2, i also need to get it to turn on because my ssbu virtual cart is in there with my dlc.

Switch 2 right speaker making clicking/buzzing noise after system update, any ideas?

Hey, my Nintendo Switch 2’s right speaker has started making a repetitive clicking/buzzing noise whenever the built-in speakers are active. It even happens with the system volume turned all the way down to 0.

The issue started right after the system software updated during the initial first setup.

A few details:

  • The noise stops immediately if I plug in headphones.
  • It also stops when the console is asleep/docked.
  • The speaker seemed completely fine when I first turned the console on.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? Would really appreciate any troubleshooting ideas or repair suggestions.
