I had the unfortunate event of being hit by an OVI driver, my car was totaled. My mother gifted me this vehicle after it has been in my family for 15 years. She bought it brand new in 2011. My kids grew up in this car, we have memories in this car of going to look @ Christmas lights, moving from GA to OH, family vacations, my kids first Disney trips. My mother has cancer and is older & idk how long I'll have her but she gave me this car bc she knew I'd appreciate it & take care of it. In an instant all that was taken away by this driver. I thought I might be able to fix it because I have family in the mechanic & auto body industry. I had the insurance company pick it up from the shop and they sent it to copart, just to avoid storage fees. I was going to do a salvage title restoration but when my family looked at it after copart dropped it off at my house, we discovered the frame was bent therefore we decided as a family to let it go & I called the insurance company to tell them we decided to not fix it & they had copart come back to get it. The same driver that dropped it off came to pick it back up & they came a day late, they were supposed to pick it up Thursday or Friday; it's Saturday. I'm crying in the driveway watching 15 years of memories slip away; this tow driver tells my fiance he doesn't understand why he dropped it off just to come back to get it. Idk who the h**l he thinks he is but either way he's getting paid to do the job at hand & shouldn't have been pissed about it. He was rude to me telling me to move out the way (I was standing on the side of the truck) watching my family memories disappear to be crushed in a compacter more than likely. He was rude & ignorant. The comments were unnecessary, hurtful & they were unprofessional all the way around, & the fact I can't send the title with the driver bc the driver might misplace it (verbatim from copart themselves) is absolutely ridiculous!!!! This experience has been horrible.
