Preemie doeling

So we're pretty sure our little doeling will be fine. She's 11 days old now and we put her out with the rest of the herd yesterday full time. We've been making sure she had some time with mom every day so suckling is going really well and mom is very good with her.

2 weeks premie

So I'm the person who asked if the goat was ready to kid. And she did, 2 weeks early poor darling. The kids are super weak, vet has me tube feeding and gave fluids but I'm not really confident that they will pull through.

Mom's not the greatest either, she probably senses somethings not right. She cleaned them up but then decided to dig in the kidding stall and I spent the day keeping her from accidentally flinging them into the walls. She's a super friendly doe so she's had no problems with me in there with her and let me milk off the colostrum for the tube feeding no problem.

We shall see if we make it through the night.

Newby question again, how close is this poor girl to kidding?

Oberhasli doe, first time mom. Her due date is July 2, and man is she uncomfortable in the heat we're having right now. I had another doe with twins about a week ago, and she wasn't nearly this wide.

Science fiction/horror short story about the perfect predator

I remember reading a short story in the 1980's about a predator that had perfectly evolved to be undetectable to humans. I was reading a lot of classic sf at the time so it could have been written much earlier.

I read it in English probably in an anthology

Thanks in advance

Copper bolus Canada?

Just wondering if anyone in Canada has advice on where to get copper boluses? (boli?) my girls are starting to look scruffy and their costs are dry and brittle. Free access to mineral powder.

Thanks!

Newby question

I have a small Herd of oberhasli (6 does) and one of them is fairly dominant. She is the substitute buck when the others go into season.

Her udders are getting quite big.

She is 100 percent not pregnant. Have had her a year and it's been a few years since she's been bred.

Should I try to milk her off (have never milked and not really planning to, these girls are retired dairy goats we got for clearing brush and also because they are super cute)

She's the one at the front, and her udders are even bigger now than in this picture

Thank you!
