Has anyone DMed the Dungeon crawler carl TTRPG starting from the collapse?
I want to play the DCC TTRPG, starting from the very beginning. I have some friends who are interested to play the game, but who haven't read the books, so starting from the beginning to have the full context of the world and story seems to make the most sense.
The starting guide does not really have any materials for this, so I was wondering:
Has anyone has tried this before? Can you give me some pointers on what to explain and what to gloss over. What information and mechanics should I prioritize in bringing to the forefront, and how can I best introduce them?
For example: should I let the guides explain all the menu's and mechanics the crawlers have access to, or should I cut their explanation to only include lore and setting information. The skill and item menu's from the books don't match the information in the character sheets, so that could end up being confusing.
Another question that plagues me is how I as the DM should use the AI. Should I give descriptions as the AI, the DM or both. What works best in your games?
