Which Sun Drop Scheme Rocked Harder?
We got Sun Drop schemes here. 2023 (right of first image) and the other is 2025 (left). Which do you prefer? Its hard to not like some Dale Earnhardt Jr and Sun Drop paint schemes!

Unexpected in 2026, Jimmie Johnson jumped in a TriCon Garage truck with his sponsor Carvana, and raced a truck! This was at the new street circuit in California at Naval Base Coronado. He started the race really well and it was fun watching him up front. It was really a joy. He ended up finishing 30th.
What makes this truck so unique is that it was his second start ever in a truck. That's right, he's only ever raced the truck twice. Is last attempt was in 2008 with a Randy Moss Motorsports. He started at Bristol and finished 34th. That also means he has never finished above 30th in the Craftsman Truck Series.
2015 was Erik Jones's Big shot as he was given a ride by Joe Gibbs Racing to run in the NASCAR Xfinity series. He ran 23 of 33 races That season and racked up two wins, 13 top 5s, 17 top 10s, three poles, and an average finish of 9.2. pretty darn good and better than all the 2026 JGR O'Reilly series drivers. This was enough to give him another year in the car for 2016. He would finish 4th and points in 2016.
I found this at the antique mall in Snohomish, Washington thanks to that awesome and handy list of NASCAR diecast spots in the Pacific Northwest made by NW_Drive.
The pig slot wasn't even popped out. There was zero creases or where. It was just sitting on a shelf for two bucks! Instant buy. Early Ricky Craven with DuPont sponsorship. He ran with AC Racing in the Busch Series. This was the early 90s and this box has been in perfect condition for over 30 years! It is an old RCCA product with early branding by Action as the two companies began rebranding and merging.
This has been on my grail list for quite awhile but the prices of Dodge's, especially this Mopar scheme, keep going up. I finally bit the bullet and grabbed one that was a fair price and I am not disappointed. It's such a cool scheme. Just slowly chipping away at my Mopar grails one at a time! This one is already going north of the century mark, and it's frustrating seeing that happen for collectors who want this stuff, but I understand. I guess get them if you find them cheap or for a fair price!!
Thanks for all the valuable input from a few people in this community. You guys truly are awesome and your knowledge unmatched!

AC Rochester (AC Rochester) was a General Motors supplier for many years up until the 90s. They began in 1908 in Rochester, New York until they were eventually spun off by GM in 1995. Their entire history they built parts for GM.
They were also unique in that they offered their own line of NASCAR diecasts in 1:64th scale. They had several General Motors drivers from Chevrolet to Pontiac and they proudly had their sponsorship on their cars. Early on they used Racing Champions to make their diecasts but eventually moved to RCCA. The RCCA produced from Revell it appears, and we're high quality with rubber tires and metal chassis. The back of the box was very detailed and shared a good amount about the driver as well as AC Rochester's sponsorship with them.
Here is an assortment of cars from the 1993 season. Even some exclusive drivers. In my small assortment here I have Kyle Petty, Kenny Wallace, Phil Parsons, and Dale Earnhardt! For 2003 each car was limited to 10,000. Anyone else have AC Rose NASCAR promos?
I saw the Square D post the other day and I liked it, so I pulled out my Kenny Wallace Square D Monte Carlo from 1999. Stats wise it was his best Cup season with three top fives and seven top tens, but he didn't finish well in the points. It was not his best points finish as he came in 27th against a stacked Cup Series field.
Pole Position was another NASCAR diecast brand in the very early 90s. Located out of Bristol Virginia, they made a handful of diecasts for different drivers. Their cars had a big huge tires reminiscent of early Matchbox NASCAR diecasts. Their bodies were simple, but they also featured more realistic decals then Racing Champions at the time.
Unlike the other brands, the chassis was completely made of colored plastic and that cheapness appeared in the front fascia and rear. Only a small portion of the body was actually metal. The cars were manufactured in China. Unlike what some may think, the name has nothing to do with the 1982 Namco game, Pole Position. The company seemed to fade away in the early 90s.
The brand had many unique drivers that only they made. There are many rare paint schemes that can only be found through Pole Position Collectibles which only adds to the charm and uniqueness of this brand.
Picked up some Winner's Circle diecasts of SVG and Zilisch at a Target in Tacoma, Washington. They were completely stocked as we're the Authentics with the latest waves! Complete surprise!
During the "cartoonization" phase of diecasts with brands like Muscle Machines, some NASCAR diecast brands did the same. Notably Hot Wheels. There was an entire line of 1:64th known as Stockerz. What you maybe didn't know is they also had a 1:24th scale Diecast line.
The car features over inflated features, massive Wheels, a lowered stance, slammed body, widened features, and a full metal body with rubber tires. The hood does not open nor does the trunk and unfortunately the wheels do not turn. The car would look pretty sick if you could turn in the front wheels, but otherwise it's a neat product.
This is Ryan Newman's 2004 Alltel Dodge R/T Stockerz car. I wish I knew what the price on these were originally but in 2026, you can find these anywhere between $15 to $30 on ebay.
I have just been adding to my Dodge collection before prices become out of reach. Picked up this 2012 AJ Allmendinger AAA Dodge Charger and I am thrilled. It now sits alongside my AJ Pennzoil Dodge. Got two big ones checked off.
I've been trying to do research on what exactly Hot Wheels was promoting here. They never had a Diamond Collector Pack but they are promoting 10 years of it. I'm not sure if it was a tie in with Valvoline or 10 years with Mark Martin, as Hot Wheels only started producing NASCAR diecasts around 1995 and 1996. The back does say 10 years Diamond anniversary of Roush Racing and Valvoline so it may be celebrating 10 years of sponsoring team together. 1990 to 1999.
These packs came out in 1999 and I'm not sure how many years of cars they made, all I'm ever able to find are 1995, 1997, and 1999. Again, I don't believe Hot Wheels had a casting for a Ford Thunderbird before 1995.
So I guess this is more of an open discussion, and I am excited to learn more. This pack was pretty vague but they were pretty cool as well as on the rear of the packages they provided in-depth information of the driver and the year each car was representing.
These were straight up nostalgia. Winner's Circle made these sets of various drivers, usually featuring their primary scheme alongside a bunch of special schemes. They would have imagery and a slot or slots to slide the car into. They used to sell these at Walmart and Kmart back in the day. I remember they had RCR Looney Tunes sets, Bobby Labonte, and of course these Tony Stewart sets. They came out in 2001 to 2002. I'm not sure how much further they carried on as a line of product.
Each one was unique for the diecast it was placed upon. It was a real neat Racing Champions Premiere feature! Not only that I loved how each box came with a driver's card. It seems like such an easy thing they could still do today. A simple drivers card. This is Dave Blaney's 2001 Amoco Dodge Intrepid! A truly fantastic paint job.
This is quite a surprise. As you know Matchbox used to make NASCAR diecasts in the early 90s but have since pulled. This year, 2026, they created a casting called the Chevy Stock Car and released this piece for their film called, "The Matchbox Movie." I'm not sure what role this car has in the movie or even if it is in the movie but I would assume it is.
It's not a highly accurate Chevy, it sort of even looks like a late model. The green and yellow markings are very reminiscent to Waste Management paint jobs that Sterling Marlin ran, but the car itself is matte black. They nicely detailed the headlight and tail light decals, using more color combinations than a usual Matchbox main line release. But I do really like it and the attention to detail is there. There is no window net though which is interesting.
The one I grabbed is a Power Box variant and picked it up at a Fred Meyer in Washington State.
Just need to see Matchbox make something NASCAR adjacent in the modern day. Based off what I see here, it looks like they could do a really nice job for a cheap $1 car. It looks like a pretty good product and feels like one too for the price point. Just wanted to share this with everyone and maybe you will find one at your local stores!
Remaking a classic! Who wore it better? Mark Martin's 1991 Folgers Ford Thunderbird or Bubba Wallace's 2017 Ford Ford Mustang? Bubba's is a throwback to Martin's '91 car.
I've been testing it for several months now. It is faster than any other 2025 or 2026 casting consistently and it is beating fast cars from the past.
I'm using the Hot Wheels six Lane Raceway set and this car is quick! I'm impressed with those little wheels! It flies! No doubt it is Fiat Beast of Turin!
It's been fun testing the fastest cars.
This Target Restocked their Winner's Circle pegs. No Authentics and a bunch of F1 cars that don't move. They've been sitting there like that for several weeks. The last Authentic sold sometime between last week and now and the WC pegs were empty. Nice to see some new product out. They even added a NASCAR peg!
Target in the Seattle, Washington metro. Price went up from $5.99 to $8.99.
You won't believe the journey I've gone on to try and find this Jeep. I've gone to walmart, Target, Dollar Tree, and then today when doing grocery shopping at Fred Meyer, there it was in the diecast aisle. Happy to add this little guy to my Jeep collection! Have a super weekend all!
