Young’s Literal Translation Bible

Hello, I was recently given a huge library of awesome mid century books. One nondescript, faux pebble-leather hardback was hiding what looks like a first/early edition (1863) Young’s Literal Translation Bible text block. Seems like a 1940s-50s rebind, which did a pretty good job preserving the text block.

Curious to know if this is in fact a first edition 1863 YLT text block. I cannot find its equal. I would love to see the original binding because I would like to rebind this and on rare occasion, use it lightly. Likely cloth over board originally.

Not too hung up on value but I’d be interested to know what others think. Thanks.

What do you wish more people understood about your lived experience?

***Edit: Thank you to everyone who shared. I have enough to write my paper. So I’d like to challenge future visitors. If you post, post to share your story for others, and then engage with another poster in hopes that we can expand this conversation in a million threads that will change future visitor’s lives.

**Original post**
I’m writing a college paper on lived experiences contextualized by demographics or cultural backgrounds. I thought I’d ask here instead of relying only on the 5 short vignettes the class provides.

If you’re willing, what do you think would be helpful for others to know and understand about your lived experiences and culture? Feel free to share as much or as little as you’d like from your own perspective. Demographics can mean race, gender, vocation, income (both wealth or poverty), or any other cultural or contextual background to your experience in life.

Beyond the assignment, I genuinely want to grow in my understanding of people whose experiences are different from my own. Thanks to anyone who’s willing to share.

Looking for a historically black church in the Denver metro/surrounding area with a gospel choir.

I’m not concerned if it’s conservative Baptist, progressive Unitarian, or anything in between. I am a music major and studying traditional gospel music in historically black church settings. It is very difficult to google this topic which why I’m here. Thanks.
