I want to make my own Popeye Anthology
I have 4 animated short ideas, and want to make it into an anthology series. Its all based on Popeye comic characters with original stories with heavy inspiration from the Original Comic Strips.

I am willing to read anyone stories and give my opinion as a reader, and fellow writer. I have a lot of down time recently, and am stuck in a writers block.
The story follows a Human born in space, an alien born on Earth, and an alien bison creature turned sentient who team up to take down The Galaxy Protection Society
I have probably a little over a dozen finished Scripts for Movies, Short films, tv pilots, and animated series. What would be the most realistic way I could get in contact with an agent, or anyone who could be interested in buying the rights to the scripts or funding the production for said script(s)
At first, I thought it was a strange hotel. Something fancy, my fruitcake son found, with oddly dressed maids, and the smell of rotting fruit and dried feces.
One of the oddly dressed maids walked me to my room, which wasn’t bad. A nice TV, bigger than what I had at home, and a nice bed that had a remote control. My own minifridge, and microwave oven. I even had a view of the wilderness that surrounded the strange hotel.
It took 3 days for me to realize where I actually was, who the people, they call my peers, were that surrounded me at every turn.
On day 3 Dr. Theodore Gilpin had come into my room unannounced. I was pissed off at first, naturally. Back in my day if you walked into my house like that I would have shot you dead. “Arvin. Calm down. I’m your doctor.” Dr. Theodore Gilpin explained. “Why the hell is my doctor entering my hotel room?” I asked, a spork in my hand I grabbed from the tray one of the maids brought me. Dr. Theodore’s face shifted into a melancholy mesh. “Arvin. This isn’t a hotel. This is the Happy Roads Retirement Home.” Dr. Theodore said. My legs felt weaker than usual, and I began to wobble. “You have dementia.” Dr. Theodore said. My memories began to flood my brain, a painful ocean wave, rehydrating what was once vast, and sandy.
I saw Dr. Theodore, my son William, and myself. In a doctor's office. William seems happy, like he finally has an excuse to get rid of me. Dr. Theodore had the same melancholy mask as now.
“Right. Yeah. I knew that.” I said, embarrassed and trying to hide the false memories. “How are you today Arvin?” Dr. Theodore asked. “Where is William?” I asked. I wanted my son, and I wanted to demand his ass to get me out of here and take me home. I didn’t care if the Television was bigger, and had more channels, or about the silver, seemingly new mini fridge. I wanted to leave. “I don’t know. We can try to call him. But I just want to know how you are adjusting here.” Dr. Theodore said, trying to distract me. “Shut the fuck up! Where is William?” I shouted, picking the spork back up and charging Dr. Theodore. Dr. Theodore pulled out a needle longer than any needle I had seen before, and jabbed it into my neck. Within seconds I was fading, and then it felt like hours of darkness.
Then my head hurt, and the lights felt like lava being poured into my pupils directly. “I am so sorry we had to do that, Arvin. But I hope you are willing to answer my questions now. Right?” Dr. Theordore’s voice spoke. Echoing through my ears, and rattling my still sore head. “What? What happened? Where’s William?” I frantically asked. Trying to put my hands over my closed eyes, but I was bound at my wrist, so I began to try and kick, but my ankles were bound with chains as well. The rattles of the chains smacking the cold metal table I was laying on. “How are you adjusting to The Happy Road Retirement Home? Arvin.” Dr. Theodore asked. “Unchain me. What is this place?” I demanded, and kept struggling with the chains. But my aged and weakened bones couldn’t be of any help at all.
“Maybe you’ll be more willing to participate in a few hours.” Dr. Theodore coldly said, then walked out of the bright room, turning the lights out as he left. The bright room, now pitch black. I struggled with the chains for what seemed like hours, then suddenly I opened my eyes and I was wrapped up in my blanket, panicking. Dr. Theodore and several maids stood around me, trying to calm me down.
“A seizure.” Dr. Theodore said. “You worked yourself up, we had to give you the sleepy needle.” He continued. I was exhausted, I felt as if I ran from New York City to Charleston, West Virginia. My bones ached, worse than they had ever before. “Just take it easy Arvin. This is your new home, get comfortable. Relax. Watch television. If you need anything, all of these fine young people will be here to help.” Dr. Theodore said, pointing at the weirdly dressed maids. They all walked out in a single file line, as if they were school children being directed by their teacher Dr. Theodore.
I knew I had to get out of there. So I went to find a phonebook, I couldn’t remember William’s number for the life of me. I needed him to get his sorry ass over here and get me out, A.S.A.P.
I struggled to stand at first, but got the hang of it quickly. At least until I got out of the room. I fell face first onto the ground, and busted my nose. Blood leaked everywhere. I began to panic, and the maids rushed around me. I didn’t know what to do, so I closed my eyes and began to talk loudly.
“Sleep, baby, sleep! Thy father watches his sheep; Thy mother shakes the dreamland tree, And down falls a little dream for thee.” I repeated, the words flowing harshly out of my mouth. I didn’t recall what they meant, but they soothed me.
I woke up later back in my room, bandaged around my nose, and my left leg in a cast. I began to scream for the maids.
After a minute a young man stepped in, he was colored. Nothing wrong with it, but I just think details matter.
“I want a phone book. Now!” I demanded. The young man nodded, and walked out. After a couple minutes he came back with a yellow book. But I couldn’t read any of the words. “You got me a damn Chinese one or something. Get me the American one.” I demanded. Not to be played a fool. “Mr. Arvin, that is ‘American’ see.” The young man said, pointing at the words that slowly turned into legible letters. “Oh. How did you do that?” I asked, honestly amused at his little trick. “Can’t say. You need to get to the phone?” The young man answered, then asked. “Yes please.” I replied. “Alrighty, let me go get you a chair.” The young man said, stepping out of the room.
This wasn’t so bad after all. Get anything I want when I want here.
After a while the young man brought me a wheel chair, and took me to the phones. Which sat in some sort of recreation room, full of wooden chairs and tables. As well as smelly, slow, elderly people. I’m old, but man are these some old people. I got to the phone, and put in William’s number. It answered on the 2nd ring. “Hello?” A voice I didn’t recognize answered. “Who is this?” I asked. “Dad?” The strange voice said. “You aren’t my son!” I screamed into the phone, and hung up. He changed his number after sticking me in here. So I’m gonna have to break out.
For a couple of weeks, I had no complaints really, I sat and watched Walker Texas Ranger all day everyday. Chuck Norris is the best. Not once did I think about my son, and his betrayal. The maids brought me food, medicine, and as much ginger ale as I wanted. But then, my son showed up, with a treat basket. Like that would make me forget his betrayal.
I wheeled up to him fast, and ran over his foot. “You think you’re too good for your own Father Walker?” I asked, angrier than piss. “Walker? Dad. It’s me. You know what nevermind. You wonder why I put you in this place to rot. Look in the damn mirror.” Walker shouted at me. My own son. I spit into his face, and ran out like the sissy he is. I didn’t need him anyways. I got myself, and I am a Man.
For the next week I began to craft my plan, and my precious wife Francine was there with me the whole time. I didn’t need Walker. I had my gorgeous Francine.
After 2 more weeks the plan was finished. Me and Francine were escaping this prison our son Walker put us in. Wait, his name isn’t Walker. It’s William. Been so focused on the plan.
“Okay baby. You seduce that guy at the elevator door, and as he’s distracted we are gonna run in together and go to the top floor.” I explained to Francine, as we snuck around the corner. “Okay. But why the top floor?” Francine asked. Poor sweet Francine. She had been diagnosed with Dementia before we got betrayed by our son Chuck. “Because of the zipline and helicopter I called in.” I explained once again. “Just go. Now.” I demanded, and Francine ran to the young man who did the magic trick on the phone book.
Francine lifted her shirt, and I wheeled myself past them into the elevator grabbing Francine’s hand and pulling her in. The young man was stunned, like I expected. This building is a lot higher than I thought too. Floor 9 is the highest, so I click the button, and we are off to our new lives together.
We got to the top, and went out the door to the rooftop. A loud alarm began to blare. “We gotta hurry.” I explained, but Francine froze. “But, there is no helicopter.” Francine said. “I know, it’s hidden. We jump off and they will swoop us up.” I explained, trying to pull her alone. “I don’t want to do that. I’m scared.” Francine said. “My sweet Francine. Don’t be scared. Follow me.” I tried to reassure her. But her face began to twist, and shift. “My name isn’t Francine. It's Darlene.” The now strange woman said. I jerked my hand away from hers. Disgusted that this monster was able to trick me into believing it was my dead wife. But my wheelchair began to move, too fast for my finger to stop. I looked over my shoulder, and saw nothing but pitch dark. I was ready.
*Authors note* (I am not sure what to tag this story as. But it’s one of my personal favorites. Finished a year ago exactly.)
I love driving, and I love driving on backroads. Something about the solitude I feel while going 50 miles an hour down an empty road that had once been the main way across the mountains surrounding my town. But now, they have an interstate.
Many of these roads, lost to time, falling in on themselves, calling for someone to drive them, for someone to keep them alive.
What was once a hobby to pass time, is now consuming my life since I had found this particular road. I had never been on it til the other night.
I was driving down the same road as usual when I saw an opening to a road I had never noticed before, of course I turned down it.
Something about this road felt different, like I had entered somewhere between. It was almost midnight, but the moon was shining so I had no reason to use my brights. As I passed it I thought I heard someone speaking, I checked my radio, and its volume had been turned up a little. Curious, I turned it up.
I had no idea what it was. It was a man, he sounded straight from the twilight zone. “Hello again, welcome back to the Endless Lane Radio show.” The man said. “Tonight’s show is a special one, it marks the 13th episode.” The man continued, I turned it up more so I could hear it properly. “As usual on ELR we will begin the show with a letter sent in by a listener.” The sound of an envelope ripping startled me. “From Harold, It has been 3 weeks, can I please go home?” The man read the letter. My spine began to tingle as chills covered my body. “Well Harold. As you know, once you turn onto Endless Lane, returning home isn’t an option.” The man said, then laughed. I had been driving for what felt like 20 minutes, I looked at the time on my radio, it said 3:13 am.
Confused, I hit a U turn, and began to drive the way I came. There was no way I had been on this road for 3 hours.
“For the next part of the show, I want to welcome a newcomer. Geoff.” The man said, then clapped as an audience cheered. I almost pissed myself. My name is Geoff. I began to drive faster now.
“Now to show a warm welcome to Geoff, I thought we could explain to him what Endless Lane Radio is.” The man said, I could hear his posture in his evil tone.
“Now, ELR only broadcasts to the lucky few who find themselves on Endless Lane.” The man explained. “And you Geoff, you have been lucky enough to join the show tonight.” The man said, then chuckled, the audience copied the host.
I could see the exit to the road now, with the green sign that I had ignored before shining in my headlights beam. “Now, before you, Harold was our lucky listener. Now, he's a lucky audience member.” The man sinisterly hissed. “Harold, come on up to the stage, and give us a few words.” The man said as the crowd cheered.
I was close enough to read the sign now, it said ‘Endless Ln’.
“Hi. I’m Harold.” A voice said. It didn’t sound human. It was as if an angry cat could speak english.
“Do not stop.” Harold continued. Then I heard what sounded like someone being punched. “Go sit down.” The host hissed.
“Now Geoff, How would you like to be the next new audience member?” The host asked, as if he could hear me. I said nothing. “Geoff? Are you there?” The host pestered. I still said nothing, I was so close to the exit. “GEOFF, YOU SLIMY FUCK YOU BETTER ANSWER ME!” The host growled in what I can only describe as the voice of Satan himself. “NO! NO! NO!” I screamed, then drifted around the corner exiting Endless Lane.
The radio turned to static, and I looked in my rearview mirror to see there was no longer a road, and Endless Lane had vanished.
For as long as I can remember it was just me and my dad. My mom had run off, and overdosed not long after I was born, her family ignored the fact she had me, and have never once spoken to me or my dad. My dad was orphaned at a young age, and raised by his brother who died of a motorcycle accident after my dad graduated College.
So, it has always been me and my dad, for the last 16 years. 10 years, I guess, that I remember personally. My dad worked at home 4 days out of the week, and 2 days at his office. I don’t really understand his job, but I know he loves ones and zeros.
A couple of weeks ago my dad mentioned that he had met someone new. At first I was fearful his attention would lessen, and I would be left alone. I don’t go to public school, and do classes online, because my dad says it would be faster and teach me more, so I have no real life friends, only friends that play Fortnite with me. But after a couple of days being a shit head teenager towards him, nothing changed, they got better honestly. No more ordering in, he was taking me to restaurants, and to the local Comic store almost daily.
But now I see it was just a way to make me drop my guard. Only a week and a half after he mentioned his new girlfriend, he began moving her into our house. Turning my game room into her “Office”. It's safe to say I was pissed off, and when I finally met her, I was like God angry at Adam and Eve for eating the apple.
She could have been taken from the movie Mean Girls and put into a 35 year old woman's poorly hidden aged body.
Her name was Melissa. She shook my hand as if I had germs, and was a snotty toddler. My father seemed entranced by her presence, not moving his eyes away from her at all, and instantly doing as she said. “My sweet poopy butt, could you get my bags?” Melissa said, in the way only a basic white bitch could say to make you want to rip your ears out. “Of course dear.” My father, a 56 year old man, answered immediately grabbing her bags.
I was disgusted, and I stayed in my room for a week straight, since I had my own bathroom and I could direct the Door Dash driver to my first story bedroom window, I didn't have to leave. Not once did my father come to check on me, of course I would of told him to fuck off, but it would of been the right thing to do is check on your son struggling with change.
CHANGE, in capital because boy did every fucking thing change. The whole house looked like a Barbies Dream House on speed. My game room, now her “Office” had glitter paint walls, and shit you not, A fucking excersize bike. How basic could this bitch be?
I sound horrible, and my Dad raised me to be a good woman loving man. I was polite to Melissa, and even lied to her. “Marcus! How do you like everything I’ve done to this place?” Melissa asked me, stopping me on the way out of the door. “It's really- Cool.” I stuttered out. She looked pleased, my dad shadowing over her like a shinigami. “I love it sweet heart.” He robotically inserted into the dying conversation.
After another week or so I saw my dad less and less. They had moved their bedroom downstairs, to the basement. Before, my dad had no secrets, and he didn’t care if I went into his room. But the day they moved down there, as I walked through the door, B-Lining to my bedroom, My dad stopped me. “Hey bud. You aren’t allowed in the Basement anymore.” My dad said, in a very dick headed way. “Ok. Why not?” I asked, curious. “Because, my sweet Melissa said so. That’s why. Do you never listen? Jesus.” My dad said, pissed off, storming down to the basement. Everything just kept getting worse, and it was pissing me off. There are no other words to describe it.
So today, I am going down to the basement, today will be the day I put Melissa’s bullshit to an end.
Update.
Okay so. I am on the run. I stole my dads car. I don’t think giant worms can drive. Lets hope they can’t anyways.
A little context, before I have to toss this phone. Melissa isn’t human. Now, neither is my dad. Or maybe he hasn’t been. I wish I could explain more but I think the ground below where I’m parked is moving. I have to go.
Update 2
My worm dad ate my well, his car. Now I am on foot. I can feel the ground rumble as I walk, He’s following me. He might not want to hurt me.
Update 3
I am in my Worm dad’s stomach, my phone is low. I am going to post this now, with the oddly good signal I have here. If I never update I was probably digested by my worm dad.

Subject : Eliason** **
Sun: Unknowing Status
Reason for Acceptance: I couldn’t tell you exactly how many Suns have gone by since I watched my first, and last Film. But I remember almost everything about that specific Sun. It was before the Great Assimilation. I was very small, and very weak. I was in no shape to work yet. My Father, his name was Elias, had taken me to watch a movie after he was given his monthly credit, or however it was done before.
This Subject is Obligated to 10 Credits per experiment in Project*** ****“Unique* Viewing Experience”

Experiment 1 “No Artificial Intelligence Activated, only Visual Projection of Wizard of Oz”
Sun: Unknowing Status
Wow. I have never seen such beautiful things in my whole life. Colors I did not know existed, and I was not allowed to know the title of. I have no words to describe what I saw. Although, I do worry that a big spinning spring will somehow come out of the viewing device. I was told to describe the viewing device, and how exactly it felt using it.
It felt heavy, and from the quick glimpse of the outer mechanism I do believe I helped manufacture it, or a similar device. I remember the wires, and metal plates. The screws I put in. But the Seeing part of the device was very good. Something I have never seen before, or knew existed. I do believe it is something remarkable.
Experiment 2 *“Slight Artificial Intelligence. Prompt.*Locate Subjects beliefs and using visuals and sound empower the subject to understand the Device better. AI level 6%”
Sun: Unknowing Status
I have no words to describe anything I felt. I saw a bright man, and several creatures I did not recognize. I could not help but cry. There was a voice, I believed to be of the Bright Man, that kept repeating words I didn’t recognize. Like my brain was filling up. My head still hurts. My eyes hurt, and are still crying.
Note from Rupert B. L.** ***“The subject's eyes would not stop bleeding until given complete darkness for a full Sun.”*
