The Unofficial Miskatonic Repository Index Has Been Updated (August 2026)

The Unofficial Miskatonic Repository Index Has Been Updated!

Since June and the UMRI update 2.0, 26 scenarios have moved up in category. Congratulations to all the authors!

Also, I have started filling in the entries in the “Below Copper English Scenarios” section. It’s going to take a long time, but I really want to finish it: I’m convinced there are some hidden gems in there.

On a personal note, here’s how I’ve engaged with Miskatonic Repository content recently:

  • I have purchased and read Moonglow and The Tartarus Intercept. I suppose I’ve been craving some sci-fi with my tentacles lately.
    • Moonglow is interesting but simple. Maybe a bit too simple? That might be the intent, to try to keep it short and sweet. That being said, there are a couple of fantastic scenes in there.
    • The Tartarus Intercept has a great premise and a great first half, but I was a little less enthusiastic about the second part.
    • Instead, I might go back to Dark Side of the Moon to fulfill my sci-fi urges. It’s a scenario I read a few months ago and liked a lot, but haven’t played yet. I’m thinking of stealing the riveting launch scene from Delta Green’s BLACKSAT and adding it to the scenario.
  • I have read and browsed Signal to Noise. I’ve watched some really well-made video reviews of it. Even though I applaud the ambition of such a creation, I wasn’t particularly transported by it. But I mentioned it to my players, and a lot of them were very excited. So I think I’ll give it a chance soon.
  • I have played Hot Bro Summer, which recently became a Copper scenario on DriveThruRPG. It is so deserved, as it was so much fun. I had five really enthusiastic players, some of them unapologetic fans of reality TV. The “confessional room” moments were done with an armchair set up in front of a mirror, with me “out of frame” asking cruel questions to the PCs while sad renditions of famous pop songs started playing at just the right time. Exquisite.
  • I’m also considering replaying soon:
    • Viral, with a group of friends who are interested in TTRPGs but aren’t part of my usual group of players.
    • Of Sorrow and Clay, with a group of colleagues, if we can find a time slot when we’re all available.
    • Arkham Fire, at a local gaming convention with a group of randos. I have never played it before, but it seems like it can be easily shortened if needed, and it doesn’t require much introduction.

4e – What’s the most broken build using all official 4e books?

Not that I actually want to play a character like this, but if I were a min-maxer (or a particularly cruel GM), what would be the most efficient way to build a rokugani samurai using all the rules from the official 4th edition books?

I’m curious what the absolute most broken/optimized character you can come up with would look like.

Hi! I don't know anything about GW, but I've been listening to some of the OSTs and I'm amazed by the music. Which tracks would you recommend that I shouldn't miss?

I'm sorry if this post fall into the "low effort posts" category, it's really a genuine request! Currently listening to the Path of Fire OST, and it's a top-tier soundtrack.

The Unofficial Miskatonic Repository Index Has Been Updated (June 2026)

As the first anniversary of the UMRI approaches, I have two big pieces of news!

First, the UMRI has been downloaded 481 times and purchased 114 times, making it a Silver product. Thank you, everyone! From the beginning, the goal of this index has been to give visibility to authors and showcase their work. I'm glad to see that it seems to be appreciated.

Second, I have begun the biggest update yet. Four new lists have been added to expand the index beyond the best-selling English-language scenarios and cover all Miskatonic Repository products.
These new lists are Below Copper English Scenarios (411 entries), Non-English Scenarios (416 entries, including 317 Korean scenarios!), Guides and Tools (356 entries), and VTT Scenarios & Handouts (28 entries).

These new sections are still works in progress, as detailed information for each entry has yet to be added. It will take time: even if I spend an average of just one minute per entry (and that's a conservative estimate), I am looking at more than 20 hours of work.

Thanks to this update, I have discovered just how vibrant the Korean Call of Cthulhu author community is. More than 20% of the scenarios currently available on the Miskatonic Repository are in Korean. A fun fact: aside from Viral and The Solo Investigator's Handbook, the only Mithral product in the entire catalog is the scenario anthology "The world of cliche", which is available only in Korean. I must admit I'm a little jealous! I hope it gets translated one day so I can check it out.

That's not the only news, though: the usual updates are also here! Since April, 12 new scenarios have been added to the Best-Selling English Scenarios list (5 Copper, 6 Silver, and 1 Electrum), and 10 existing scenarios have moved up to a higher category. All of the changes are listed below. Congratulations to all the authors!
