hello guys,

i need some help with my Steam account.

recently i tried to recover one of my old Steam accounts from 2017 (my first Steam account). the problem started after i lost my phone. because of that, i also lost access to my Gmail and phone number, so i couldn’t do any 2FA verification anymore.

i managed to recover most of my other accounts like Microsoft, Ubisoft, Epic, PSN, banking apps, etc. but the only things i still can’t recover are my Steam account and Gmail account.

the main reason i want the Steam account back is because it has a lot of old friends added from back when i played Apex, and i really want to reconnect with them. also, i had some old CS:GO inventory items that were worth quite a bit back then, maybe around the value of a Flip Knife (~RM400 / $100).

i already contacted Steam Support, but the problem is that all my purchase history and receipts were sent to my old Gmail account, which i can’t access anymore because of 2FA. because of that, i also can’t check old CD keys or gift card purchase history, so the recovery process became really difficult.

basically:

• i can’t access my Steam account
• i can’t access my Gmail
• i can’t verify through CD keys or purchase emails

but i still have proof that both the Gmail and phone number belonged to me:

• the Gmail used my real name/ID card
• the phone number was under my real ID
• i still have the e-invoice/details from the phone provider proving i owned the number

some people asked me:
“how are you unable to log into your Gmail?”

honestly i don’t know either. i tried many times on my PC, but Google keeps saying they can’t verify that i’m the owner of the account. i’ve been trying to recover it for over 3 months already. i even asked Gemini and ChatGPT for advice, but both basically said there’s not much else i can do except make a new account.

“what happened to the phone number?”
when i contacted my phone provider to report the lost phone, they immediately terminated the number,and require me to buy a new one.

“why do you want the Steam account back so badly?”
mostly because of the old friends on that account, and honestly, owning a Flip Knife or Karambit was kind of a childhood dream for me.

i know this is probably a really hard case and maybe the account can’t be recovered anymore, but i’ve heard a lot of people say Steam Support is actually very helpful, so i just want to know how far Steam Support can really go with account recovery.
