I found this olivetti lettera 42 in my grandmas garage, the carriage isn't moving when keys are pressed and there's a string coming out, how do i fix it, i am entirely new to typewriters

A family friend found them in an old mansion and gifted them to me, does anybody know if they're real, worth anything and from which year they are from (i only know they're from after 1955 and before 2002) also i only want to know the value because, I don't know why but i like to know what things i have are worth. thanks in advance
