I’m booking a comfort refundable fare (international flight) and $170 for a preferred seat. In the event that I cancel, will I be refunded the $170 for the seat? The flight itself is fully refundable but I am unclear on whether the seats are. I called Air Canada, and the person I spoke with did not give me a definitive answer. The agent said I could fill out a form and submit it. When I asked if I would be refunded after submitting the form, she said that Air Canada would review and decide.

Has anybody been successful at receiving a seat fees refund on a comfort fare on a voluntary cancellation?
