First-Time Investor in Ghana: What’s the Best Way to Invest GH₵4,500?
Hi everyone,
I'm a complete beginner to investing and I'd really appreciate some advice from people with experience in Ghana.
I have GH₵4,500 that I'd like to invest. My goal isn't to get rich quickly. I mainly want my money to grow while keeping the risk relatively low. My investment horizon is about 3 to 12 months, or even longer.
So far, I've come across:
- Treasury Bills
- Money Market Funds
- The Achieve app
I'm a bit confused about how each of these actually works and which would be most suitable for my situation.
A few questions:
If you were starting with GH₵4,500 today, what would you choose and why?
Is Achieve a good option, and if so, which investment product inside the app would you recommend?
Which banks or institutions have good Treasury Bill services or Money Market Funds?
Would you put all the money into one option, or split it between different investments?
Are there any fees, risks, or beginner mistakes I should know about before investing?
Are there any other investment options in Ghana that you think I should consider besides Treasury Bills, Money Market Funds, and Achieve?
I'd really appreciate practical advice from people who have personally used these products in Ghana. Thanks in advance!
