The “pop group” Oasis
This is just a small tidbit. In the opening of the trailer you hear a journalist say “the pop group Oasis is in doubt tonight”
In the US, this phrase “pop group” is rarely used to describe rock and roll bands. It struck me as interesting and got me wondering whether the phrase is slightly more artistic and “indie” in the UK.
Then I went down a bit of a rabbit hole. In Noel’s 2009 statement announcing his departure from Oasis he wrote-
“As of last Friday, August 28, I have been forced to leave the Manchester rock ‘n’ roll pop group Oasis.”

Turns out, in 2009 when there were rumors of the Stone Roses getting back together, John Squire said the following, before Oasis broke up:
"I have no desire whatsoever to desecrate the grave of seminal Manchester pop group The Stone Roses."
It’s probably not a coincidence that Noel used similar wording “pop group” in his statement, and it’s interesting to hear the phrase used again in the lead up to live 25. AFAIK it’s not a phrase used much in the US, especially for rock and roll.
At least, it’s interesting to me. I like words lol
