CoreELEC on Ugoos AM6b+: Questions re. moving from USB drive to MicroSD card

Hi all. I'm expecting this question is pretty simple, and I probably don't even need to ask, but I'd just like to confirm with someone who is more confident (experienced?) than I am before I put the necessary work and money (which admittedly isn't that much) into the attempt...

I followed these instructions:

https://discourse.coreelec.org/t/guide-s922x-j-ugoos-am6b-coreelec-ng-installation-and-faqs/51231

and got CoreELEC 21.3 set up properly on my Ugoos AM6b+. I got a test file here:

https://discourse.coreelec.org/t/soc-s5-s928x/26408/56

and confirmed DV Profile 7 with FEL is working, which was my only reason for doing this.

I installed it with a USB drive, not really thinking about the fact that I'd need to leave the USB drive attached to the Ugoos permanently if I wanted to keep using CoreELEC. I know I can use the ceemmc tool to install CoreELEC on the embedded card, but I'm not sure I want to go that far. Please tell me if you think I should reconsider, but I like that I can just detach an external device and boot normally if anything goes wrong. I want to buy an SD card that I'll dedicate to the Ugoos so that I can recover my USB drive for other purposes. My questions are:

  1. If I use Balena Etcher to set up CoreELEC on an SD card the same way I did on the USB stick, can I just swap the SD card for the USB stick, or is there something else I have to do, like perform the installation on the Ugoos over again, or change the boot order on the Ugoos?

  2. I know that, even though the Ugoos documentation asserts support for a maximum of 32GB, larger SD cards usually work. Since I plan to keep all of my content on my NAS and stream it over my wired Ethernet network, I can't think of any reason why I'd need an SD card larger than 32GB, but wanted to ask here, are there any reasons I might want more SD storage?

I appreciate any insights/advice/war stories you can share.
