Is it normal in marriage conversation!
My friend's parents went to her bf house for first conversation of marriage. Only the parents met as they both were kinda ready. During the meet the guy's mother said stuff like whatever you will give your daughter like ac, dressing table, bed etc would go to her room(in the in laws house). This many sarress., gold, silver is required in rituals and functions. She did mention they will also give gold jewellery to the girl. They ask her parents to bear all the marriage and engagement expenses.
Now her parents are not comfortable marrying their daughter in the family coz they are worried if they might have more demand in future. Although my friend did had a conversation to her bf to which he said his mother was just giving example it is not mandatory to give all the silver and gold in the functions. Even the mother of the guy also said that to my friend. But her parents are not ready for the marriage now.
My friend is confused if this is normal in marriage conversation or her parents concerns are genuine?
