If you guys are making FO5 in the San Francisco Bay Area, there are many venues outside of San Francisco proper that might be excellent sites for themed adventures:

• UC Berkeley (the Nuclear Engineering department used to have an actual nuclear reactor on campus)
• UCB Space Science Laboratory
• Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory - cyclotron accelerators and exotic element synthesis
• Stanford University
• SLAC
• Moffett Field Naval Air Station (militarized) (mega blimp hangar)
• NASA Ames Research Center (gigantous wind tunnels) (exotic aviation and space biomedicine research, astrobiology)
• Lockheed-Martin (LM Space Systems at Moffett Field)
• Google/Facebook/Apple/Tesla corporate HQ's ... (Fallout world equivalents)
• Alcatraz
• Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island (Bay Bridge)
• Monterey Bay Aquarium
• Lick Observatory
• Napa / wine country (north bay and beyond)

For those of you eagerly awaiting the SLUF, I ran across this pretty solid documentary about what made the Corsair ground breaking for its time:

A data center was forced through government approval in Utah despite the citizens widely opposing its impact on scarce water resources and numerous other objections.

The mechanism used to do this was hailed as "replicable" in other states. <-- (this is the money point)

They exploited a state entity called MIDA (Military Installation Development Authority) that acts like a local municipality but which has authority that cannot be overridden by normal channels of regulation in the State Government.
