I just finished up this Loona acrylic painting for Erica Lindbeck to sign!

Finally got around to finishing Loona the other day. This took me way longer than I care to admit for what appears to be an overall simple painting.

16x20 acrylic on canvas with Posca markers for the outline.

This is a first in a series of Hellaverse characters to be signed by their voice actors this fall. So the plan is to have Erica Lindbeck sign this one!

Probably among one of my favorites of Hellaverse paintings I have done. (Art by Me).

I’m not going to lie, Alastor is one of my absolute favorite characters to paint. Probably the character I have done the most of. I’m sure most of us Alastor lovers have seen this digital painting before, and I absolutely loved the colors that I wanted to try recreating it. Now it proudly hangs in my living room!

This was done on a 24”x36” canvas with acrylic paints and a little bit of Posca markers for the outline. Took around 25 hours total back before Christmas. Sorry for my face; I like to hold the canvases just to show size relevance.

(Original picture came from birdhism on Instagram. I also apologize if this is the second time anyone is seeing this. I originally posted it on my other account, but wanted to start focusing on an art-based account).

Ps. If you look close, you might see my cat, Kisa, trying to photobomb the picture.

I know to always ask beforehand, but which would be better to gift a VA if they accept.. mini painting or print?

So in November, I will be attending a con with several VAs from my favorite shows. I love painting fan art, so my plan was to create several paintings for the VAs to sign for my own personal use (even splurging on a VIP pass so I can go back to the room and swap out canvases without having to wait hours in line again or carry around largish paintings).

So my question is what you folks might think is best. My original idea was that I wanted to do mini paintings to gift each of the VAs (as long as they’re okay with it), but now I’m second guessing myself. The paintings wouldn’t be more than about 6-8 inches big on traditional canvas or flat canvas board, but now I’m nervous that even that little would be too big for them to carry home because I know they pack light, and I’m sure I’m not the only one gifting them.

So then my second thought was possibly prints of the painting that they’re signing for each of them, but the traditional artist in me feels like that is so impersonal. I originally planned on writing a short note on the artwork, either on the back of the canvas or the print, but I feel like the “specialness” gets lost with just a print.

Has anyone had experience with doing this, and if one is better than the other? Obviously my first choice is a original painting, but I don’t want to do that extra work if it’s something they possibly can’t take with them (I would understand completely, but it would still be disappointing).

Thanks!
