Mine had the fan installed from the factory…but I can’t actually hear it - so not sure if it’s just ultra quiet or not working. After only about an hour of use, the top of the console feels very hot.
How’s the heat on everyone else’s? Should I be concerned?
I was browsing the arcade cores - and most are awesome, as I expected…but I fired up Popeye & it’s a little special! It never had a home port that looked remotely as great as the arcade, because the arcade had “high res” (interlaced) sprites that looked amazing at the time. Still looks great today and feels awesome playing an arcade perfect version of it at home!
I’m planning on moving to a bigger MicroSD from the stock 64gb. Can I just copy everything over to a new/empty card? Or should I run the SS1 setup on the new card first & then copy my folders/files over after?

This thing is so cool & can do so much…I’m thinking of selling off a big chunk of my retro stuff. I already had started consolidating years ago when Everdrives came out…I sold off most of my cartridge collections except a few favs. I got into the RGB/upscaling scene…but since there have been so many HDMI mods, I now only have my Saturn/Dreamcast/PC Engine on my RGB/Retrotink setup. Due to the Analogue systems, I boxed up my old consoles.
But now I have this amazing magic box with everything I love under one hood. Do I need my Analogue systems, my original systems, my PS1/Saturn discs, my RGB/upscaler stuff any more? SS1 is making me thinking of doing a major declutter/cash-out. Anyone else having these scary but rational thoughts about their retro stuff? 😛
When I connect my M30 to the SS1 via USB, it seems to treat it differently than when it’s paired via Bluetooth. Each way has different button presets…I changed it so it’s the way I like no matter the connection method, so it’s mostly the same now…but when it’s Bluetooth, the Menu button won’t bring up the menu. When connected with USB, the menu button works. If anyone knows why it does this or how I can get it to allow menu button use in BT mode, I’d appreciate the tip.
Hello! I’ve been able to get my old memory cards to work on the SS1 PSX core, which is so cool! But as you can see - I have a MadCatz multi memory card…I forget what’s on there, so it would be great if I could go into the PlayStation CD/Memory Card menu…I’m probably missing something obvious, but I can’t figure out how to do it. I tried the CD door open option, but it just went to a black screen.

Short version of my case: Signed up my kid for a 2 week summer horse camp, the woman who runs the camp didn’t show up…lied about the reasons, and refused to refund our money.
I served her in CA. First time in court, I was told we need to serve her at the same address on the paperwork. Then, she fled to TN…I found her at a relative’s house, served her there. The CA address was still on the paperwork, so I was told to amend & serve again before they’d hear the case. We found her actual TN address, got it on the paperwork & served her there. I went to court this morning for the 3rd time…today I’m told that I CAN’T sue someone out of state unless it’s a real estate or car accident case. I asked “even if the business and incident happened in CA?” Judge says no. I asked why I wasn’t told this last time I was in court…I probably wouldn’t have bothered serving again. She said it was my fault for not researching my case better.
My legal advisor tells me the judge is wrong on the law…just wondering if anyone here might have some info about that? What do I do if a judge is wrong? 🤷♂️
A few months back, I posted my Vegan Italian Beef recipe. I found myself with a ton of Unlimeat in my freezer (both my Vons & Sprouts were blowing it out for $2 a box…had to buy ‘em!). I usually use Tofurky for my Italian Beef, but despite being labeled as Korean BBQ, this Unlimeat is pretty neutral in flavor. So - I tried it tonight with my recipe and HOLEEEE MOLEEEY it came out AMAZING! Unlimeat is now my favorite protein for this recipe. It absorbs all the flavors and has such a great texture! I hope I can still find Unlimeat at my local stores after I run out of my stash.

I went to the farmer’s market this morning to pick up my semi-regular stash of Dave’s Tempha…and was shocked to see this sign. I’ve been eating Dave’s Tempha for over a decade…my kids love it…and now - poof. Gone. This might be the most devastating local vegan loss for me. The other stuff they have is great, too - but Tempha was so unique and delicious. If you never had it, it was like a vegan Korean fish cake. A great snack & a great addition to soups, salads, etc.

Apparently there’s one specific machine required to make it…it broke, and the owner doesn’t want to fix it, leaving Dave without any option to keep making it. 😰
