72 hours out and all the numbing seems to have worn off for the most part, I can drink through a straw and eat soft food if I mash it on the roof of my mouth with my tongue. I am really pleased with my smile and minimal bruising so far!

I got my all on 6 implants on Wednesday 8/12/26 in Ft Worth, TX for $27,500 which included IV sedation. I am very happy so far, Dr. Christina Greene gave me my smile back!

Might be a TMI question, but….

How long did it take for you to French kiss your partner? My hubby wants to know lol and I’m so sore right now that’s not even on my radar! He’s taking such good care of me but he was curious!

I just got mine on Wednesday 8/12

After having hyperemesis while pregnant, all the enamel on my teeth was completely eroded and gone. My teeth felt rough to the touch, and started breaking, chipping, and literally rotting and turning black. It was so embarrassing, I’ve been ashamed to smile with teeth, and I work in a client facing role as an investment advisor and I was worried I would eventually lose my job along with my teeth. If you have BCBS insurance, there’s a chance that you can get your implants covered and you will just need to pay your deductible and max out of pocket.

About the procedure itself: on Wednesday I had the remaining teeth I had left extracted (I had 7 on top and 10 on bottom) and they put the screws in. I chose to have IV sedation, which didn’t knock me out but made me a lot more comfortable. I went home very sore and swollen. On Thursday, I went back to have the temporaries screwed in - the part where they had to numb me with shots again hurt so badly that I saw stars - thankfully only 30 seconds of pain, but ouch! I went home with everything screwed in except two of the upper right because I had so much inflammation so I will have that done on Wednesday.

How recovery is going: I am on 10mg of Norco every 6 hours and I have definitely needed it. I have been alternating heat and ice wraps I got off Amazon and have been religiously using that. The biggest part I didn’t expect is that I can’t talk without a very heavy lisp and it’s very hard to understand what I’m saying. I’m also having a hard time eating and have to spoon the food into the back part of my mouth. It’s very hard having these two foreign objects in my mouth and all these new bumps and ridges in my mouth. Today is the first day I can kind of smile a bit but I am still very numb in a lot of places, my neck up to my sinuses to my cheek bones are very sore. This is the biggest I can smile but cant wait to see what the final outcome is.

For those of you that have completely recovered, how long did it take you to eat, drink, talk, and smile normally? I look pretty loopy in this picture because the pain meds are making me out of it. I would also like to hear about everyone’s journeys in general even if you haven’t recovered!
