WFH set up with newborn

Hi all! I’m looking for suggestions on how to optimize my WFH set up.

I’ve had this remote job for over 8 years now. With my first baby, two years ago, I was able to take my full 12 weeks mat leave. When I returned to work, my husband and I split shifts of working and taking care of the baby, until we hired a nanny around 9 months old.

This time around, that arrangement is not feasible. My husband’s job has become a lot more demanding. And I really couldn’t do more than 2 weeks of leave. So I’m back at it, and I’m starting to realize that my current WFH set up is not working for me. I usually work in my home office with my laptop and 2 extra monitors. My toddler has a nanny that comes daily to look after him at my home. I’m not ready to hand over my newborn to the nanny yet, so I’m trying to figure out how best to work with my baby next to me.

What are/ were your essentials for working from home with a newborn? How did you make it work? How did you stay sane? It could be anything, I’m just looking for any advice I can get. Thank you!!

Looking for potty training advice - without using the“no-pants” method.

Hi all! I’m looking for advice on how to potty train my toddler without going full naked. He’s not comfortable being naked, and I’m not comfortable with the idea of pee getting all over my house! So I’d like to train using pull-ups and/ or underwear. Any advice would be super appreciated!

Help! Makeup brushes down shower drain.

Quick update: I was able to pop the grate off! I got some stainless steel cooking tweezers and pulled out 4 makeup brushes. There’s at least 2 more left down there that I can’t reach, so I’ll be getting a pick up tool later today to get those out. Next question is - how do I clean/sanitize my stainless steel cooking tweezers??? Or are they a lost cause? 😭

My toddler just put some of my skinny makeup brushes down this shower drain. With the light on my phone I can see at least 2 brushes down there, but I’m sure there are more. How can I get them out?? I’m not sure how to get this grate off. Do I need to call a professional, and if so, who do I call?

I just purchased a Boos cutting board that I’m planning to keep out on my counter at all times. I’m wondering how to quickly wipe it clean between uses. Example is, if I cut an apple on it but don’t plan to use it again that day, and I don’t want to move the heavy board to the sink and give it a deep clean just for cutting an apple. Is there a cleaning solution or natural cleaning solution I can use to wipe it clean after such a use?
