Sometimes I'm just having dreams of walking around teapot paradise, eating hot dogs and placing bonus pads like normal gameplay. Sometimes I'm just having dreams of me playing Dod like I always do every day, but then I wake up, and I'm like "holy shit I was deadass dreaming of a videogame."

And they meet the mad scientist behind it all and be like "You monster... you're making more?!"

Because I am unimaginably bored, I'm going to share some notable stuff I've encountered in Die of Death as a diary. Hope ya'll don't mind, as this can give some good discussion.

This happened yesterday, 22/6/26

I don't know what's a good way to start this, but I'm just gonna say I'm not personally mad. I was just slightly pissed off at first, but I found the situation silly as it developed, so it's pretty notable. This is related to three users whose names I've forgotten, so let's call them Oxygen, Hydrogen, and Nitrogen.

It was genuinely just another round with Oxygen with the Turkeydroid skin, you know who Turkeydroid is, so I'm not going to talk about the killer as they aren't relevant now.

The round went majorly normal except for one thing, which was that the healers were Oxy's first priority, and I, Bonuspad + Block, their second priority. I assume this was so because there were only two players with more than 5 days of playtime, a Block + Caretaker with 8 days, and me with 10 days. So, Oxy was reasonable and killed both of us off as we were major threats to their game. BUT, after all the healers died, a few survivalists, and then me, there were two Revolvers left. Nitrogen, at 50 HP, and Hydrogen at full.

Nitrogen was hiding for most of the round (They started hiding when Oxygen killed the first survivalist and started to prioritise the survivalists and me). This was a completely reasonable action as they were two-shot with no healers. When I died, Hydrogen basically took over the whole round, distracting, stunning, and stalling Oxygen. So Oxy lost the game, and Nitrogen had no reason to be scared, eventually popping out of the corner for one last stun before the Timer zeroed out. But when the round ended, Hydrogen said, "Nitrogen ruined the LMS ngl" (LMS didn't even happen btw, both of them survived), which obviously led to them being questioned about why they thought so.

In their eyes, Nitrogen chickened out and decided to hide from Oxygen, in hopes that Hydrogen and I would die, starting LMS, and they would get Vigilante Shootdown and win, just being some anti-teamwork scum. Now, Nitrogen is very inexperienced, with only 1 day and 30 minutes of playtime, I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't even know what Vigilante Shootdown is. And heck, even if Hydrogen DID die after me and Nitrogen was stuck in LMS, they would've most likely died, since they were only 50 HP. Oxygen would've taken the win. And if Nitrogen stopped hiding and tried to help Hydrogen, there was also a good chance of death for them.

I then tried to defend Nitrogen by justifying his low health and the exact conditions I've just presented.

Hydrogen: Nitrogen clearly didn't think of the teamwork and hid to take the LMS for themselves.

Me: But Nitrogen was very low, LMS or not, they would've died trying to help.

Nitrogen themself stated that they were not confident in themselves and were very scared. They were about to thank Hydrogen for their help, but didn't realise they were going to be this scummy.

The unfunnier part is that Oxygen also didn't like that "Nitrogen was being a chicken and hid", and suddenly some other players were also defending Hydrogen's argument. I started to get a bit cross with this, and I firmly asked them, "What if Nitrogen stopped hiding and died the instant they were spotted?" Then Hydrogen very blatantly said, "Then I would've been in LMS and won. They should've died."

This was so hypocritical, first you want someone to help you against the killer and are mad that they're "taking LMS for themselves", but then you say that the same person should've DIED and YOU would've done the exact same "stealing LMS" bullshit? What do you mean?

Both Nitrogen and I got considerably pissed off at this argument, and this stupid debate went on for THREE WHOLE ROUNDS. There is something I have to admit: I think I got way too angry and started saying some random stuff to make Hydrogen and Oxygen shut up, but anger wasn't a good response to this, and I kinda got flamed for "poorly ragebaiting".

At some point, I said, "This convo has been going on for 3 rounds, can we just shut up and play?" to which Hydrogen had the AUDACITY to say, "Bro can't take his L".

What L? I haven't lost anything. Your dumbass couldn't pick a side between teamwork and anti-teamwork, and you got everything mixed up and ruined the mood for everyone. The only loss here is a loss of enjoyment.

I think at this point the argument stopped, but we were still all a bit miserable. Nitrogen ragequit at some point thanks to this tomfoolery, and Oxygen left as well after losing a One Bounce round. I stayed a bit since I just won another Killer round and a Dienation, but at the end called it quits since I was very tired.

I am so confused about what Hydrogen was trying to get at. I'm sad that a perfectly normal round turned into such a shitstorm, and I am very sorry that I had to crash out on all of them, and I hope ya'll can understand this entry that took 3 hours to write. Also, please help me with what the fuck exactly happened here. Hydrogen's actions are so incomprehensible.

I've seen other people address this issue (I've also done it), but perhaps we were too blunt, or we're just stupid. The update isn't even delayed or gatekept; we've just continuously shot ourselves in the foot as a community. Now we've reached rock-bottom.

It's pretty infuriating to see how ravenous this community is and how these posts of unfunny "horror" images and pibby-glitch ass text get so much traction and agreement despite there being no real opinion or real humour, just miserable people talking without a filter.

It isn't even criticism at this point, yelling "GIVE US THE UPDATE" in hieroglyphics isn't criticism, it's brainrot. If people want to actually criticise, they should go to real people instead of creating echo chambers in this subreddit under the guise of being humorous.

If people are genuinely tired of "waiting", consider playing a different game or going outside. Stop forcing yourself to come back to the game and forcing yourself to stay in this community that already has its issues. You'd be doing yourself and others a service.

I'm pretty surprised that these karmafarms haven't been banned/restricted by the mods because they're pretty much Done to Death posts. They're spammed every other time and are pretty low-effort, given they are just horrorslop images you'd find on Google with some "scary" text taken from either AI or shallow-web translators.

TL;DR: We've lost the plot; these posts are just yucky karmafarms that spread toxicity and (probably) hate towards the devs. Take a chill pill, drink water, exercise, and stay calm.

Unlike most life-threatening questions like these, I actually gave a nonbinary option!
