Shawnee Mission Ford told me I won $5,000…

Posting this as a warning for anyone in the KC area who gets one of these “Wheels of Fortune Match & Win” mailers from Shawnee Mission Ford.

I received a mailer advertising several prizes, including $5,000 CASH. My mailer appeared to match the $5,000 prize, but I know how dealership mailers work, so I wasn’t about to drive all the way there based on that alone.

I called the dealership first.

I gave the person on the phone my PIN from the mailer and my address specifically so they could verify whether I had actually won before I made the drive. They checked my information and told me yes, I won.

So I drove to the dealership.

Once I got there, they had me fill out my personal information before I could receive my “prize.”
And what was the prize?

A lottery scratcher.

That was it.

If they had told me on the phone, “Your PIN qualifies you to come in and receive a lottery ticket,” fine. I wouldn’t have gone, but at least that would have been truthful.

Instead, I specifically called to avoid being baited into making a pointless trip. They verified my PIN and address and explicitly told me I had won, knowing exactly why I was asking. Then I drove there, handed over my information, and suddenly the advertised cash-prize promotion turned into a lottery scratcher.

I understand that promotional mailers have fine print. What I have a much bigger problem with is an actual dealership employee confirming over the phone that I had won after checking my PIN and address.

So, let this be a word of caution. Don’t get duped. Dont drive a Ford.

Has anyone else in the area received one of these mailers or had the same experience with Shawnee Mission Ford?

[Request] Reckless Ben Is Exposing a $200K LEGO Scandal and Now His Videos Are Being Targeted

I really think Ethan, or the After Dark crew, should look into what’s happening with YouTuber Reckless Ben right now.

Ben has been covering a wild story involving roughly $200k worth of allegedly stolen LEGO sets connected to Bricks & Minifigs. From what’s been shown in the videos, the LEGO collection originally belonged to an older man whose family was hoping the money could help pay for his cancer treatments. Instead of the situation being resolved, it’s escalated into legal threats, law enforcement involvement, and now attempts to remove Ben’s videos from YouTube.

Whether you agree with every tactic Ben uses or not, he consistently goes after corporations, scams, cults, and shady behavior that most creators are too afraid to touch. Now it seems like a much bigger company is trying to bury the story entirely through copyright claims and pressure campaigns.

At minimum, I’d love to see Ethan or someone from the H3 team check out the situation because Ben is saying he needs access to a YouTube rep before his channel/videos get hit harder. It honestly feels like the exact kind of internet rabbit hole H3 would cover on the show.

The whole thing is insane and the family at the center of it deserves attention.
