MSR WindBurner replacement O-ring

I need a replacement O-ring for my MSR WindBurner stove, for the area where the stove connects to an isopropyl canister. I figured it would be an easy item to find and purchase but it seems this isn't so. anyone had any luck finding this part? thanks

fungal disease on oak trees, Bay Area of California

I’m sorry but my phone is out or storage and I can’t currently take more photos. if more photos are required I can take the necessary steps to free up my phone to get more pictures but this is potentially an emergency so am posting immediately

many oak trees on the property and this fungus is presenting mostly on the top leaves and branches. the affected branches are rubbery. there are mold spots on the main tree itself as well. how serious is this? I am freaking out

this Saturday

few questions about this Saturday

I’ve heard you can also buy merch at The Venetian where there is also kind of a No Doubt museum? this Saturday it will be open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the whole experience, and also after the show late at night for merch only? is that right? I would prefer to buy my merch before or after the show so I won’t have to be holding anything during the show and so I won’t have to wait in long lines. is there any merch that will only be at The Sphere that I’d be missing? any clue what time the merch store at The Venetian will close Saturday night?

and for the Sphere show this Saturday, what time do I need to get there to line up if I wanna be able to get to the front of the stage for the show? what time will their set start and how long can I expect it to be? will I have time to go to the bathroom really quick after I get in before heading to the front of the stage?

thank you

questions about this Bell & Howell Lumina 1.2 projector

I got this projector for free and cleaned it up a bit. seems to be working fine except the rightmost arm where the reel would get placed has a broken metal holder piece, so I would not be able to attach a reel until I replace this piece

when I put the projector in reverse/rewind, the rightmost arm piece rotates for a bit and then stops. if I help it a little it gets going again but then quickly stops. I removed the broken piece to inspect it earlier, so I’m not sure if it was having this issue before I removed and replaced the piece or not. I tried different levels of tightening which seems to change the frequency of how often it stops rotating, but I can’t seem to fix it. maybe this is a belt or lubrication issue?

also I watched a video on YouTube and it seems like it’s not a good idea to have the lamp on if the film is not running since the film can burn and dissolve. is there supposed to be a protective piece of glass that drops down to protect the film from the lamp heat when you start the motor? — and if so, is there a way I can make sure that this protective glass is functioning properly?

also does anyone know if there’s a place in the Bay Area of California, United States that can service this projector? or at the very least does anyone know where I can find a replacement part for the broken metal reel-holding piece? thank you

need help understanding if I can use incandescents with these or not

I have two three-bulb vanity lamps in my bathroom, and there’s only one sticker in the middle of one of them that says max 60W type A 120V 60Hz

does this mean that one whole three-bulb lamp can only use 60W total? (20*3) or does this mean it can use three 60W bulbs for a total of 180W? I would like like to use six 40W 120V A15 bulbs if possible (total, across both three-bulb lamps), but also wondering if I can use six 57W 120V A19 bulbs

would these be great for my uses?

wanting to use these primarily for a four-bulb ceiling fan in both a large bedroom and a medium living room, both on dimmers. fixtures say 250V 660W

also wondering if would work for most standard non-dimming applications / lamps / etc. I would be getting these for a dollar each

edit: only downside I can see to these is that they seemingly only have a lifespan of 1000 hours (well that word I’m assuming is ‘hours’). and yes I realize this would be running them at full brightness but isn’t 1000 hours super duper short for an incandescent bulb?

closest thing to a “regular” light bulb at Home Depot — thoughts?

so I’m getting really into light bulbs now thanks to this community and everyone’s helpful knowledge. I thought I’d see what Home Depot had for incandescent light bulbs

for E26 standard base, they have A21 bulbs (just slightly larger than the standard A19) at 200W which sounds crazy! however, if these are on a dimmer then the wattage won’t really matter and I can dim them down to be as dim or bright as I want right? but if not on a dimmer then would these be ridiculously bright and not usable for in bedrooms or even kitchens? what application are these meant for?

and then also for E26 base they have A15 bulbs (smaller than regular A19) at 40W which although small bulbs sounds a lot more for standard bedroom / living room / etc use. any downsides to using these over A19?

looking for incandescent bulbs to replace these LEDs

couple questions. so these current LED bulbs I’m using for a ceiling fan with four bulbs say stuff like — E12 candelabra 40w / B10 blunt tip

E12 refers to the size of the base? if I’m looking for replacement bulbs, are there any other base size numbers that are exactly the same that might be used by different brands? or if a bulb says anything other than E12 will it not be correct?

what is B10 referring to?

when it says 40W, does this mean that the LED bulb is basically equivalent in brightness to a 40W incandescent bulb? so then for my incandescent replacement I’d want to get something around 40W if I want similar brightness?

this is going to be for a bedroom that is being converted into a retro gaming / VHS/etc watching room basically, so the lighting does not need to be super bright, but also it shouldn’t be super dim

I saw these globe bulbs with E12 base for sale, but the seller says they are only 5W so basically would be ridiculously dim in this scenario right?

can I use these small incandescent bulbs with a dimmer switch?

I just got a bunch of these small incandescent bulbs, but a couple of the places I wanna use them are fans hooked up to dimmer switches. I am wondering if I turn the dimmer to the highest setting will it make the bulbs burn out or significantly reduce their lifespan or anything like that worth knowing?

the bulbs say ‘30A15/8 130V’ on top and ‘30W 130V’ on the bottom

the bigger incandescent lights say 75W but I only have four of them right now so I am stuck using the small ones

also wondering if I do end up getting more normal/big incandescent bulbs that are 75W, will they be twice as bright as the small 30W ones? thanks

(to clarify — the small bulb I’m primarily talking about is on the right. the big/normal bulb on the left is just for comparison)

Biom wipes either no longer compostable or never were

when I originally started purchasing this product I believe it advertised as being compostable large on the front. then they changed the packaging (left package and pic 2) and it only says small on the back ‘Discard wipes in trash or home compost’ and ‘Our wipes are made with 100% plant-based, biodegradable fibers — not polyester or polypropylene’. now on the even newer packaging (right package and pic 3) it says ‘Discard wipes in trash’ and ‘Our wipes are made with 100% plant-based, plastic-free fibers — no polyester or propylene’

so either they’ve slowly been changing their formula, or they realized that their wipes shouldn’t be composted. anyone else use these? thoughts? the whole point of me buying them was because they were compostable and don’t come in a single-use hard plastic container like the other brands do, but now it seems the first reason is moot -_-
