Fan Faction: The Long Silence (aka Snakes)!
Hey Guys!
Just spent the last couple hours hammering out the details on my first ever fan faction: Snakes! I got hooked on this game a couple months ago and couldn't stop thinking about a faction that operates on paths rather than clearings. Here's the breakdown!
Faction Rules:
- Road Warriors: Snake warriors are placed on paths between clearings, cannot move, and do not have a " battle" action.
- Ambush Hunters: Enemy units passing over COILED Snake warriors lose 1 unit. (Vagabond must tap 1 crossbow or break 1 item)
- Deadly Venom: If attacked, Snake warriors score 1 hit before dice are rolled.
- Fear of Birds: Bird factions can pass over snake warriors without losing a warrior.
- No Hands: You have no use for items and cannot acquire them.
Turn Actions:
- Hatch: remove any egg tokens and replace them with Snake Warriors (either COILED or SUNBATHING)
- Heat: Add wild cards from your hand to the thermometer. Reaching 1, 5, and 9 cards will increase the points you score from SUNBATHING snake warriors
- Strangle: remove any siege tokens and replace them with nests. Remove any enemy pieces from that clearing.
- Crafting: each Nest can craft any suit
- Snatch: take 1 enemy warrior from a clearing adjacent to a COILED snake warrior. This captured warrior joins the faction that frees it from the snakes
- Lay Eggs: Place an egg token on a path adjacent to a snake warrior or inside a nest. (Egg tokens are destroyed by enemy units moving across the path)
- Coil/Sunbathe: Swap up to 3 warriors from COILED or SUNBATHING mode to the other. (COILED warriors kill 1 enemy unit travelling over them, SUNBATHING warriors score points at the end of your turn)
- Siege: Yeah I spelled it wrong on the board. If a snake warrior is adjacent to an enemy controlled clearing, you may play cards from your hands matching all adjacent clearings to place a Siege token on that clearing. If snake warriors are present on every path to a clearing, it can also be sieged. To break a siege, that enemy must remove all snake warriors adjacent to that clearing.
Incubate: Remove a wild card from the thermometer to instantly hatch an egg
Other General Information:
You score points at the end of your turn based on the number of sunbathing snakes. You can have up to 5 sunbathing snakes and 5 coiled snakes. You can have up to 3 nests build, each of which gives you an extra action each turn. Coiled snakes give extra card draw each turn at 2 and 4 coiled snakes.
Well that's it folks! Thanks for reading; I'm looking forward to play-testing this soon. Let me know if you have any feedback!
Best wishes,
