Hello fellow redditors! I am a former journalist who has quit her job and is now looking to upskill herself. I studied history in undergrad and went on to a journalism school, following which I was working as a news writer for four years until now.
I believe I need to (and want to) learn a new skill and switch to a different field. But I also don’t want to abandon my existing skills that I learned while working as a journalist.
Once I choose the field, I would like to pursue a masters or at least a post graduate diploma to learn the new skill. And I’d like to do so in the UK because a) I really love the country and b) I have some personal reasons to move to England.
Having said that, I understand the harsh reality of the job market in UK but something in me just want to go ahead with it because I was stuck at my old job and have been stuck in my current life that I feel like I need to take a leap of faith and just do it.
I am here to seek career advice, guidance, opinions. I would really like some head-start on what my options can be and what courses I can pursue and how likely am I going to be able to land a job eventually.
While I know the situation is grim, I would really appreciate some words of encouragement (please) :D.

Hello everyone! i am considering to pursue masters in publishing as an international student in the UK but i need some guidance on the job realities in the country. Is it true that publishing jobs are almost always not receptive to international candidates who might require sponsorship?
It’s worth mentioning that I am a former journalist and have 4+ years working as a news writer at a reputable media company, but I am not sure if this stint would be counted as an experience in publishing roles.
((Looking for some positive advices although i am not seeking delusional suggestions :p))
