No Phones at Phoebe Bridgers Pop-Up Show

Last night, I was fortunate to get to attend Phoebe Bridger's pop up show in Roswell, NM. There was a strict no-phone policy and anyone caught using a device for any purposes was escorted out of the building. Phoebe's production team worked with a company called Yondr to lock phones in a bag that would then be unlocked at the end of the show.

I think last night was genuinely one of my favorite shows that I have ever been to.

Everyone was chatting with each other before the show and no one was distracted with social media or any other apps. I think I've talked to more people last night than I have at every other show. I would often tap my pocket to get my phone but then I get reminded that I don't have it on me and I left it in the car. Without the distraction, I could either just stand silently or talk to people around me.

The show was phenomenal. Everyone just paid attention to Phoebe and there wasn't a wave of iPhones in the air recording every moment. I seriously hope more artist do something similar to this on their tours.

I also deleted my instagram and twitter yesterday.
