What made the ADHD assessment process easier, or harder, for your family?
Hi! I’m a Minnesota mom and I also co-own Ready Psych Go, a psychology practice in Minnetonka that does ADHD and other psychological assessments.
One thing I’ve noticed is how overwhelming the assessment process can feel for parents before they even get to the actual testing, figuring out where to start, what kind of evaluation their child needs, dealing with waitlists, understanding insurance, and then trying to make sense of the results afterward.
I’m curious about parents’ experiences here: what part of the process was the most confusing or frustrating for your family? And was there anything a provider did that made the whole experience feel easier or more supportive?
Not looking to promote services or send anyone anywhere, I’m genuinely interested in hearing what the process has been like from the parent side.
