joining the faith, help needed

i posted this on another subreddit but will post here too:

hi! i’ve been seriously considering becoming catholic for a while and i think i’d like to start attending mass and eventually join the church.
i’m still very much learning and i definitely don’t know everything yet. i’ve been reading about catholicism, but i was wondering what you wish you’d known before joining? are there any books, prayers, traditions or bits of advice you’d recommend for someone completely new?
i’m also a little nervous because i’d probably be attending by myself, so if anyone has any advice on what to expect at mass or how to get involved in parish life i’d really appreciate it.
thank you :)

am i overreacting was he just being nice?

i was just walking down the street when this man with this huge camera on his head RAN over to me and said "you look incredible" and his eyes and hands kinda motioned to my body

and i said thanks but panicked and kinda said "are you filming?" and he said yeah and i said "please don't" and he did back up and that tbf and i said "please dont post that" and i walked and he shouted "have a good day"

but like what if he does idk im really scared. thankfully i had big sunshades on so maybe i'll be kinda anonymous but i still feel so scared because i see women get posted and the comments are so awful

and idk maybe i should be grateful he didnt get angry but my day feels kinda ruined now :( i just wanted to go to build a bear
