Why is Math 112 so difficult?

It's annoying because the math itself isn't even that difficult, but the way it's being taught makes zero sense to me. So far it's really basic things like Egyptian fractions (which is just a weird sort of fraction decomposition) and distributive property, but I only got a C on the first quiz when normally I do pretty well on those. Then I realized that the exam covered things that we hadn't even studied for yet (in class or on homework) when we got those same problems on the homework the week AFTER we took the quiz. Also the teacher I have tends to pitch her voice up five octaves at the end of every sentence and it's not the best to listen to, and there's no late work or makeup work accepted.

Does anyone have any tips for surviving this class or what I should study for before each exam? Should I jump ahead a few lessons to make sure I get everything? Again, I studied all the homework she indicated we should go over prior to the quiz, but the quiz itself included things we didn't cover yet.

Is my upper body day routine good?

Hey all, I'm looking for some advice on how to optimize or improve what I do on my upper body days; I don't have anyone in my family or friend group who's into fitness so I don't have anyone to ask. I also need some help moving up in weights because I've been stuck on the same weight for a while on a lot of these.

Here's my standard upper body day:

  • 20Ib DB Bicep curls 3x8
  • 25Ib DB Overhead Tricep extension 3x8
  • 12Ib Lat raises 3x8
  • 85Ib Pec Deck 3x6-8
  • 60Ib Lat pulldown 3x6-8 (Wide grip)
  • 30Ib Iso Row machine 3x8

If there are any muscles I'm neglecting, any muscle groups I'm hitting too many times, etc. please let me know, anything I can do to improve. Also please don't judge on the weight amounts I only started my gym journey half a year ago.

Smoke near Meridian St.?

I had my window open and within like 15 minutes the air got so smoky I was coughing and had to close it. Does anyone have any updates as to what this is? Seems a bit more local given the sudden nature of the smoke.

Local PTSD/Trauma Support Groups?

Hey all, I'm not doing too well. Normally I have my mental health pretty well managed, but lately a lot of things have been cropping up that don't normally affect me. I'm in counseling but I could use some kind of support group for people who are dealing with trauma/PTSD related issues. I'm not a veteran so I'm fairly certain I wouldn't be welcome in a group like that, but that's the only kind of PTSD related support group I've been able to find, otherwise it's just grief counseling groups or weird New Age "find your inner peace" hippie bullshit. Is there any group like that in or near Bellingham that I could join? I just need people to talk to about this stuff.
