Should Nene perform with Ozone on AGT? Would it add to her fame/story or would it dilute her fame?

I am not talking about videos with pictures of Nene shown in loop while an AI read about Nene, her family, her performance or her talent. If you are like me you see tons of IA videos featuring Nene with "hidden performance" or "secret audition" with awfull guitar picking and dead voice.

Most of them come from Africa.

Is it a sign that you succeed? People surfing on your fame to score some clicks?

I found five of the 44 AGT contestants with a dedicated English-language Wikipedia article that is actually about the artist:

Jesse White Tumbling Team — July 6, 2006

Long-established article; the team also competed on AGT Season 4.

Travis Garland — September 17, 2009

Established singer/dancer, formerly of NLT.

Young & Strange — September 19, 2019

British magic/illusion duo; their article predates their AGT appearance by several years.

LaRussell — July 1, 2025

American rapper; the article was created almost exactly one year before his AGT appearance.

Nene Royal — August 12, 2026

Created during AGT Season 21, immediately after her progression to the Top 44 was announced.

None of the other contestants entered Wikipedia this season besides Nene Royal. I think that says something about the impact she is already having on this year's competition.

I still see some posts saying that she is overrated and that there is really nothing particularly special about her. I find that difficult to reconcile with the evidence. The number of reactions to her two AGT performances is greater than that of all the other 44 contestants combined. And this year, she is the only contestant to have received recognition from the original artists of songs she covered.

There have been other AGT contestants whose covers received recognition from the original artists — Sara James (AGT 2022) from Billie Eilish, Richard Goodall (AGT 2024) from Journey, Maya Neelakantan (AGT 2024) from Adam Jones of Tool, Peter Rosalita (AGT 2021) from Celine Dion, and Zoë Erianna (AGT 2023) from Beyoncé — but Nene is the only AGT contestant I have found who has ever received two separate acknowledgements from original bands during the same AGT season.

So no, I don't think she's overrated.

While watching the zillionth reaction video to Nene's AGT performance (I can't help myself), one of the rection guy said something that struck me :

I posted multiple times that I hate the way AGT mix images and sounds to enhance the crowd reaction and shouts to the singer/dancer/musician/ whatever. But dispite all that we can better listen to her voice and music than her posts on her Instagram.

Almost all the shorts and videos we can whatch on her accounts are of poor quality compare to the AGT stage. She posted some videos where she lipsinch herself (Through fire and flame-the 12 years old version, lovely, maried to the blues...) that is her who sings and play, but in the video it is lipsinch. The only video I found where it's direct is her composition Real Verse.

We were millions to already follow her before AGT just from sometimes crappie videos.What her first studio recording will be!

She covered other songs from Metallica but without comment from them. Her other covers like the one from Scorpions, Guns N' Roses, SOD, Nirvana raised a lot of positive comments from the metal community but I didn't read anything came from these artists....

A lot was said during this show and it was the occasion to see Nene in a very feminin dress in complete opposite of what she is used to wear. But what tried me is the way her father confess to treat her when she was young and their only child. The very first night she busted she earned more than him (she earned 3000 that's while his salary at the hotel was 10,000 that's a month). I can't keep thinking that he exploited her. Ok, she might be the awesome musician/singer today because of him being so demanding, but what about what she endured? Am I out of touch? A pampered European?

I’m not a musician, but I love metal and guitar virtuosi. Could someone explain why some posts keep emphasizing how Nene played the bass line on her guitar while singing? To me, it looks like any other Nene performance, yet I keep reading about how difficult it is. I’d just like to understand how and why.

Since I am not a fan of AGT, I didn't collect all the statistics. So I asked ChatGPT, Nexuty, Lechat, Claude and Geminy. No other candidate had that acknowledgement. Now, given that even before AGT, Sir Brian May commented on her BR cover.... she is out of this world.
