I'm done

Started watching AGT with my 94-year-old mom, who had dementia and enjoyed the variety of acts. Unfortunately, she passed away in late June. I started watching this season in her honor, but I just can't take it anymore. The talent in general is not as good. Tired of the choirs. (The prize is a show in Vegas...are you seriously telling me a dozen or more families are going to uproot their kids and move to Vegas if they win? 🙄) Terry's loud commentary drives me nuts. Tone it down, bud. Don't get me started on Sophia's constant use of the word "spectacular." The comedian just was not funny after his initial audition. Brook Lynn was robbed. I am cheering for the dog act because I love dog acts, but honestly her act is only a step above basic agility training. The man who won a couple of years ago with his dog was much better. And I don't get the appeal of the tumblers. I have a niece who is in serious gymnastics training, and her team could tumble rings around these people. Ok, thanks for indulging me. And goodbye.

Live Show

Does anybody else get the Olivia Befus hype? I love dogs and all, but she quite literally, as Simon would put it, did the same act three shows in a row and all she did was change the setting. Anybody else agree here?

Hollywood Star Neel Sethi from Disney's "The Jungle Book" will vote for Nene Royal on AGT. Here is the proof ...

SiamTownUS

Hollywood stars say “I will vote for Nene.”

LA (Siamtown US): Neel Sethi, the actor who played Mowgli in Disney's hit movie “The Jungle Book,” says he is a fan of Nene Royal and will definitely vote for the young prodigy from Thailand.

On the afternoon of August 18, 2026, Tommy Narongsak, a Thai national in Los Angeles who works as an Uber driver, shared a video of 22-year-old American actor Neel Sethi praising Nene Royal, who is currently trending for her participation in the latest season of America’s Got Talent. He said he would vote for her in the quarter-final round, which will take place on Tuesday, August 25th.

“Hello, my name is Neel Sethi. I played Mowgli in the movie “The Jungle Book,” and I’m voting for Nene Royal. She’s very talented and gifted. Thank you,” the young actor said.

Tommy is one of Nene Royal’s “fans” and has volunteered to put up and distribute posters introducing her and how to vote at Thai businesses throughout Los Angeles over the past week. This includes having posters in his car to introduce to his passengers.

“I picked up this celebrity at his home in Beverly Hills. He was going to the premiere of the National Geographic documentary 'Lion' near USC. When he saw Nene’s poster in the car, he said he was a fan of Nene too,” Tommy said, adding that he then asked permission to record his comment again.

Neel Sethi, currently 22 years old, is famous for his role as "Mowgli" in the blockbuster live-action film The Jungle Book by Disney, released in 2016, which was a huge success and grossed $966.6 million worldwide.

Nene Royal, or Miss Rattikan Amlai, 16 years old from Phuket, will arrive in Los Angeles on Wednesday, August 18th, and will perform live on America’s Got Talent in the quarter-finals. This Tuesday, August 25th.

Trisha Paytas?

Really? She's annoying AF. Also an amateur porn star. They didn't mention that part. She's on OF.

Brook Lynn should have made top 5

I'm genuinely shocked that Brook Lynn didn't make top 5. I didn't expect her to make the top 3 but not even top 5 made my jaw drop

Can we please see the Acts?

Ok, yes, I’m behind, and am just now watching last night’s show. And yes, I have FF half of it. Then comes 100 Fingers. For the love of goodness, can we please stop panning to the audience and judges during a magic act? Singers? Fine… Comedians? Sure. But an act that is dependent on sleight of hand and quick movements? Why?? Just why? I don’t care about reactions. I want to see the actual performance. Especially the ones that are solely visual.

Sorry if this has been said 10000 times, but I’m frustrated and needed to vent.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Did anyone notice that if you audition as an arial act or acrobatics then you usually go thru?

How many arial acts have you seen been buzzed or said no to? There's usually only 1 or 2 arial acts that audition each year and they usually make it very far in the competition. Like if one of your talents right now is doing maneuvers with a rope in the air then you probably should audition for the show right now.

Wikipedia has a page dedicated to Nene

I found five of the 44 AGT contestants with a dedicated English-language Wikipedia article that is actually about the artist:

Jesse White Tumbling Team — July 6, 2006

Long-established article; the team also competed on AGT Season 4.

Travis Garland — September 17, 2009

Established singer/dancer, formerly of NLT.

Young & Strange — September 19, 2019

British magic/illusion duo; their article predates their AGT appearance by several years.

LaRussell — July 1, 2025

American rapper; the article was created almost exactly one year before his AGT appearance.

Nene Royal — August 12, 2026

Created during AGT Season 21, immediately after her progression to the Top 44 was announced.

None of the other contestants entered Wikipedia this season besides Nene Royal. I think that says something about the impact she is already having on this year's competition.

I still see some posts saying that she is overrated and that there is really nothing particularly special about her. I find that difficult to reconcile with the evidence. The number of reactions to her two AGT performances is greater than that of all the other 44 contestants combined. And this year, she is the only contestant to have received recognition from the original artists of songs she covered.

There have been other AGT contestants whose covers received recognition from the original artists — Sara James (AGT 2022) from Billie Eilish, Richard Goodall (AGT 2024) from Journey, Maya Neelakantan (AGT 2024) from Adam Jones of Tool, Peter Rosalita (AGT 2021) from Celine Dion, and Zoë Erianna (AGT 2023) from Beyoncé — but Nene is the only AGT contestant I have found who has ever received two separate acknowledgements from original bands during the same AGT season.

So no, I don't think she's overrated.

Royal Lasers use of AI in Quarterfinals

It’s clear to me that they used generative AI in their act. Really disappointing tbh. If it wasn’t for that they’d easily be one of the top acts tonight.

Hundred Fingers deserved that Golden Buzzer again

I don't care what anyone says. But seeing Hundred Fingers getting the Golden Buzzer was so well deserved as they were once again sensational. I've been very vocal in the community that they have been my "act" this season. And this performance proved that. The routine absolutely blew my mind the whole way through and they are the exact type of act I want to see end up winning the whole thing this season.

Might be unpopular. But they are easily my favourite this season.

QF1 Personal Ranking

Usually live show week 1 is the weakest one, and tonight didn't disappoint me. One of the weakest night I have ever seen.

• The CommUNITY ATL: After the whole night I nearly forgot their existence. This marks how mediocre their performance is.

• James & Marina: This is kinda slow but I think it has a decent ending.

• Jesse White Tumbling Team: Just a bunch of people fliping around. No where near the standard of V Unbeatable or Zurcaroh. The most hilarious thing is, the old man literally stand there doing nothing lmao. Completely waste of spot.

• Ashford Sanders: Voice not bad but the song choice is bad.

• Sando: Nonsense act. Only the dumbass like Simon will love this.

• Hundred Fingers: I think this is one of the best act of the night, although I am not extremely fascinated about it. There are better magic acts in previous seasons.

• Brook Lynn: Decent performance although not wow.

• Royal Lasers: Impressive performance. Quite entertaining.

• Olivia Befus: Decent dog act, but not better than that of previous 2 seasons' ones.

• Cris Sosa: No idea what the audience is laughing at. Not funny at all.

• Luke Taleno: Very noisy and no where near the standard of Chris Turner. Having the name Talent doesn't make you become talented.

Personal GB: Royal Lasers

Personal Top 3: Hundred Fingers Olivia Befus Brook Lynn

New live show rules

According to NBC itself, the live shows this year will all be in our hands and up to voters. There WILL NOT be a live shows golden buzzer this year and no judges saves or anything like that. Just 11 acts for 4 weeks will preform in the quarterfinals and we get to vote through 3 of the 11 each week. Semifinals will feature 12 acts. 8 of the will go through the the final will be the top 8. But it’s all up to us this year? Thoughts?
