Just bought a passive non powered Treble Booster.

Just bought a passive non powered Treble Booster.

Just bought a used Big Foot Engineering "Trouble Booster" Uno for the equivalent of about USD $60.

This is passive / non powered. Meaning it does not take any batteries, and it does not take power from any pedal power supply.

Its just a transformer and some other little components. It requires at least a buffered pedal to go before it.

In my case, i put an MXR Clean Boost in front it giving about +3db to +4db.

This goes into my Analogman TS9 Silver, and then a DS1, and finally an IR2 running a clean patch.

WOW. It adds some "sauce" into the signal. Seems to push the TS9 and DS1 that little bit more, in the sweet frequencies.

Very pleasant sounding to my ears.

I cant wait to try it at the next band practice. I think this is going to cut through the mix very nicely and pleasantly for solos.

The only bummer is that you cant visually tell if its switched on or off. Theres no LED, and even if i wanted to drill a hole and put an LED in there, i would need to wire up one or more resistors to manage battery power or 9v dc power. I dont think its worth the trouble.

Right now the only way to tell is with my ears. Step on the footswitch once, listen to it, then step again. Its obvious when its on. Theres no other way.

Edit: It sounds nice for clean tones too !! I just bump the mxr boost to +12db (12 oclock position), the treble boost at +12db, and a CS3 with heavy compression, into an IR2 clean patch.

WOAH i cant stop playing the Sultans Of Swing middle solo.

Sometimes you need 2.

I love this thing.

I already have a CS3, a CP1X, two LMB3s, and an MXR M87.

The MXR M87 is supposed to be used at the end of the pedal chain i think. But even the 4:1 setting is abit much. I wish they had a 3:1 or 2:1 setting. I have used it to compress vocals with some okay results.

The CS3 is squash-quacker. I like using it with humbuckers.

The LMB3 is in a world of its own because of that very distinct bright flavoured "soft clipping" when used with Strats and Teles. (I dont play bass)

And the CP1X ... Well.... Its supposed to be a state-of-the-art guitar compressor what with all the digital processors and mini-computer chips inside there. But perhaps i havent realised its full potential yet.

With the LM-2, the limiting effect is very subtle. Any tone colouration comes from tweaking the tone knob. At 12 oclock position, the guitar's tone sounds completely "un-coloured" to my ears.

You can see how i like them set. Threshold to the bottom. Release to the longest. Lol.

Thats probably what... 1.5 seconds or so of release time ? Thats not bad for a 1980s / 90s pedal !

Happy to add these LM2s to my collection of compressors and limiters.

Singapore's Reported Currency Reserves for those wondering.

Today’s largest reserve holders were shaped by a crisis that happened nearly three decades ago.

After the 1997 Asian Financial Crisis exposed the risks of relying on foreign capital during market turmoil, many governments began building massive foreign exchange reserves as a form of economic self-insurance.

Using data from the IMF’s International Reserves and Foreign Currency Liquidity (IRFCL) database, this visualization ranks countries by their foreign exchange reserves excluding gold, based on the latest available reporting periods from mid-2025 through Q2 2026.

Good things sometimes come in pairs

I really like the BD style circuits and their clones.

They are very.. amp-like ? Or perhaps i should say, they make my clean tones sound very musical.

Musically pleasing to the ears.
