A true Barn Find

Miracles do happen! An elderly gentleman I met through work mentioned he had a car in the barn he hadn't driven since he had a stroke 23 years ago and asked if I might help him get rid of it. He had been a Beoing enginner for 40 years then had a stroke and couldn't drive stick any longer.

I went out to the barn and saw this 1989 wrangler sahara hardtop. ZERO RUST, one owner 112k miiles. Sahara hard top, soft top, rear luggage rack, after market bumper and pushbar, bikini top, rear seat covers, sway bars... it was loaded. I told him I might be interested in it and that I'd come see him the next day. I went home and tried to come up with a good number that was a good deal for me and a good deal for him. I went back and offered him 9000.00. He said "sorry, I can't do that". I said I understand and that I will put it on facebook for him. He said "you didn't hear my counter". " 1000.00 cash".

And that's how I got my YJ. I trailered it home and changed out all the fluids and hoses. It started right up. I took it to get detailed immediately, then I put on a 3" lift and 33" tires- the largest that would fit the stock rims. I put on a weber 32/36- something I'd never attempted before... and now I have a reliable, fun as hell summer car that I'm in to for about 4000.00.

Keep your eyes open!

Unstarted for 23 years. tires had a permanent lump in them.

This was the finished product with the hard doors and hard top off. This is how it lives it's life now.
