Will be leaving this one here with you all, I am about to welcome my first child into the world in a couple of days so I'm going to take a break from the updates for a few weeks and enjoy family time. This one is a good one, clears up a lot of plugin dramas, whilst adding one small feature which was a request to add MIDI learn on plugins. And the really simple but awesome idea for New Tape from IN + OUT feature request by u/Upper_Stage3546.

I noticed the patch on Sunday made the bug report line go very quiet as 90% of the bugs reported are usually plugin related. Hopefully heading into more stable territory from here so we can build some DAW controller profiles. But again please let me know if anything goes wrong!

Quick patch to clear up AU plugins + tape loading issues - available on Mac + Windows

Thanks again for all the bug reports and feature requests they truly help more than you can imagine. Coming in hot with the session exported which opens Tape-16 to being used as a tracking tool, if you want to mix like its 2026 at least you can get the files out now with ease.

Autosaving on plugins has been improved so it is far less likely that you will ever lose any settings. I did a 2 day recording session test with a duo. We recorded 7 songs and none had lost any plugin states between the frequent swaps, within that I found a couple of small nuances too like bounce folder persistence and a strange 0 sample recording bug. Was such a great time though finally putting it through it's paces in a studio environment, the band didn't even really notice, and they said it felt super easy and enjoyable. There were times we needed to make decisions if they were going to play a part better which was a nice fun gamble for us all. We did a live mixdown of the 7 tunes as well with 2 of us riding the faders.

Tape swapping is now smoother and quicker!

Relaxed a lot of the early plugin blocking mechanisms, (was a bit annoying) now that we're narrowing down what plugins are and aren't working. Hopefully it will make for a smoother experience.

There was a pretty nasty bug that introduced stutters if you recorded longer takes with varispeed set to anything but 1.00x which has now been patched. (Good find Charlie!)

Plugin windows, on Windows are now far less buggy and don't go missing behind the main window anymore too. And their menus shouldn't flicker when clicked.

Bringing forth more QOL for everyone, there's a lot of updates around plugins including preset saving, window options and a seriously improved plugin manager. You can also press TAB now to access slots from the main screen quickly. You can also drag and duplicate from the rack view.

- Also our Windows friends can now properly enjoy the DAW controllers which were relatively unusable until now. It will require further testing as Windows is unrelenting with bugs surrounding MIDI and plugins.

- Importer can now find external hard drives!

- Reels now look a lot better when in FF or RW, especially those in the themes with writing or non-smoothed textures on them.

Let me know if you have any dramas and we'll hopefully have them sorted by Friday if they're easy enough.

PRE-RELEASE is for Mac and Windows only for now, Linux will drop on Friday.

Thanks everyone for posting bugs this week! Super super helpful for us all. Have got a test for Mac and Windows here, will get Linux up as soon as we can. Official will drop on Friday as always. Biggest things to test right now are the:

• scaling on 4K and/or smaller than 1080p screens.
• plugin delay compensation

What a morning! Turns out the watchdog/startup safety was a little too safe. Wouldn't allow a lot of people through the door.. Anyhow everything should be back up and running again as normal. If not let me know! Sequencers type plugins were also a little bugged since a few Waves fixes, but they should also be back online.
