Some of you may remember my original post about Uber’s driver compensation. I haven’t been active on Reddit in a while because, frankly, I got tired of dealing with the negative comments, personal insults, and trolls.
I welcome different opinions, but disrespect is another story.
Well, here’s PART TWO!
I’ve been driving for Uber since 2021, and after reviewing years of earnings statements, trip breakdowns, and deductions, my concerns about driver compensation and transparency have only grown.
I’ve documented substantial deductions from passenger fares, unexplained adjustments, missing tips, and long-distance trip offers that barely cover the time and expenses involved.
Let’s talk about the numbers.
Drivers provide the vehicles, pay for gas, insurance, repairs, maintenance, and depreciation, and absorb unpaid pickup and waiting time.
Yet we’re often left questioning how our earnings are calculated and why certain deductions appear on our statements.
I’m not asking for special treatment. I’m asking for transparency, accountability, and fair compensation.
I have screenshots and records supporting the concerns I’ve raised, and I’m interested in comparing experiences with other drivers.
