Advice- Swollen Eyes/ Sensitive Mouth- KODA 11 Month Old Golden Retriever
CALLING GOLDEN OWNERS/VETS/ANYONE WHO HAS EXPERIENCED THIS:
We noticed our 11 month old Koda girl had woken up with a swollen lower right eyelid end of June. Thinking it was just allergies, we let it go as the swelling went down during the day. July 4 she woke up with another swollen eye this time the left lower one. And her inner corner of her eye was very red. As we put the pieces together we had noticed she would no longer take ice cubes and she would abandon her dental treats halfway through (she LOVES these so abandoning is very strange). She also seems to be struggling with chewing harder treats as she moves it in her mouth and then just swallows it. I had also picked up on the fact she is not opening her mouth to bark and will not open her mouth when she yawns. I tried brushing her teeth a couple of days ago and couldn't open her mouth without her crying. I tried brushing her teeth a couple of days ago and couldn't open her mouth without her crying.
She just had her X-rays done today and they didn't find anything. Next step is scheduling a CT scan and hope something is picked up on that. If anyone has ANY advice or things to ask our vet please let me know.
