Dog owners, do you do year round tick collars or break for the winter?

We do flea and tick preventive chewables year round. This is our first winter here so I'm curious what others do.

Before living here we didn't even bother with a tick collar, but walks around QC had us averaging one tick per day or two (until we bought the collar). Ticks just seem like an entirely different monster than where I'm from.

What could I reasonably get for this?

Have a shundo and a lucky hundo, so pretty soon this won't have much value for me
