Is ACCA worth pursuing after B.Com with no work experience?
I’m looking for some honest advice about whether pursuing ACCA at this point would be a good decision for me.
I graduated in 2024 with a B.Com (Hons), but unfortunately, I haven’t worked since graduation. I spent the last two years preparing for government exams, but I’ve realised that I don’t have much interest or hope in continuing down that path ( being honest I was also lazy and not doing anything with my life is hitting me hard now🥲)
I’m now considering giving the next 2–3 years seriously to ACCA and building a career in accounting/finance.
My main concern is that I already have a 2 year gap and no work experience. So, I’m wondering:
Is ACCA still worth pursuing in my situation?
Would companies consider me for good roles after completing ACCA despite the gap?
I don’t want to spend another 2–3 years on something that won’t significantly improve my career prospects which is none to begin with.
I’d really appreciate honest advice, especially from people who started ACCA after graduation or had a similar career gap🙏🏻.
