Sbl guidance

Hey guys,

I’m planning to attempt SBL in the September sitting and wanted to know whether I still have enough time to prepare for it.

I’m currently doing my articleship and work from 9 to 5. I also go to the gym, which takes around 1.5 hours of my day, so my study time is somewhat limited. Given this schedule, do you think I have enough time to prepare properly for the September attempt?

Also, which instructor would you recommend for SBL? I’d really appreciate recommendations based on your personal experience, especially if you had a good experience with a particular instructor.

One thing to keep in mind is that this will be my first ACCA exam, as all my previous papers were exempted. So I’m looking for an instructor who is particularly good at helping students understand the ACCA exam approach and technique.

Thank you!

Should I Do ACCA?? Please help

I'm starting too late maybe already close to graduation, all my online career evaluation exams shows I should I either go with acca, ca or cma and i was genuinely exploring acca and liked it structure too but I found it lil too expensive I want to do it with proper guidance and proper tuitions and I.can afford each exam but not the cost of failure and the cost to be paid after clearing all papers and getting 3 yrs PER. Also I don see myself working abroad so how's the career opt in India? Is it worth it? Does it have good ROI? Please help I've wasted 3 yrs in figuring out which professional exam is suitable and best for me but I couldn't find one.😔

Is pursuing ACCA from IIC lakshya trivandrum worth it? I recently moved back from Gulf and I am exploring my options and want the best institue to complete the rest of my ACCA journey.

Hi everyone. Please help me here. I visited IIC Lakshya campus in trivandrum yesterday, but I am still unsure whether to go for the campus because they are demanding high fees that too not paper wise like I used to pay in the institute I studied in Gulf. I am a bit worried whether paying that much would be worth it or not because we won't even get refund if we are dropping out. If any of you have studied or still studying there for ACCA, I would love to hear your experience there with passing papers, tutors, study materials etc. Please do let me know which is the best institute to opt for, even if it's online.

How i got into EY GDS as ACCA Affiliate

--- Myself a 22 yr old girl, who have been working with EY for almost 2 years now and this is how i got into EY!

I have been getting a lot of DMs asking about how I got in, so I thought I'd just make a post explaining my entire process.

Applying & Getting a Referral

I qualified in July 2024. Before that, I had applied to a lot of openings but never got any callbacks.

The day before I qualified, a new position called Core Audit Staff opened up, specifically looking for an ACCA fresher.

I used to follow a lot of people from EY on LinkedIn, especially those who regularly posted about openings and asked people to reach out for referrals. The day I qualified, I immediately sent my details to one of them, and he referred me.

Referral is so underrated. Reach out to anyone working in the firm, especially people who actively post openings. A referral definitely helps your application get noticed more easily than a direct application.

One thing I did was use two email IDs:

One email ID for referrals.

Another email ID to apply directly, just to be on the safer side.

The reason is, once someone refers you for a role, only that person can refer you for other openings for the next 6 months. If they stop responding, you're stuck. Having a second email ID lets another employee refer you.

---

HR Calls

Within a week, I received a call from HR asking basic questions:

Qualification

Location preference

Whether I was willing to relocate

A day or two later, I got another call asking about my availability for an interview.

---

Interview Process

My interview was online, and there was only one interview. (Recently, I believe most interviews have shifted to offline.)

The interview lasted around 30–40 minutes.

She first introduced herself and asked me to introduce myself.

Practice your introduction beforehand.

She then went through my CV and asked about my:

Qualifications

Certifications

Resume details

So make sure you're confident about everything you've mentioned on your resume.

After that, she moved on to accounting and finance questions. They were basic, but not too basic. Then she asked audit-related questions.

If you're an ACCA student/affiliate, I'd recommend revising the AAA textbook. You can also simply search Google or LinkedIn for EY audit interview questions—most of the commonly asked questions are available there.

I definitely didn't answer everything perfectly.

The important thing is to keep your composure. If you don't know something, don't panic. Just be honest and say something like:

"I'm not entirely sure, but I'll definitely look into it."

Even when I struggled with some questions, she actually tried helping me also

---

Excel skills & Internship

She then asked whether I knew Excel.

I had completed Excel certifications, so I told her that while I had done certifications, I didn't have much practical experience.

During the gap between my last ACCA exam and receiving my offer letter, I had done a 2-month internship at a local CA firm.

It wasn't mentioned on my resume because I didn't have an internship certificate, but I brought it up during the interview.

Since I had used some Excel functions there i mentioned it, she asked me about:

What work I did

My responsibilities

My Excel usage

---

HR Questions

Towards the end, she asked the usual HR questions like:

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Why EY?

I had already practiced these using ChatGPT, but I also added some personal touches.

For example, I mentioned that EY was the first Big 4 firm I had ever heard about, so I always wanted to start my career there.

Adding something personal makes your answer sound much more genuine.

---

One Random Question That Helped

She randomly asked me whether I knew any EY audit tools/software.

Luckily, I had come across their names in a LinkedIn post earlier, so I was able to mention a few. ( Canvas, Helix, Atlas - these are main ones)

She seemed to like that.

That's why I'd strongly recommend using LinkedIn a lot.

Honestly, during that time I spent more time scrolling LinkedIn than any other social media.

That's where I learned:

How to apply

How referrals work

Common interview questions

People's interview experiences

Once you start engaging with those posts, your feed becomes extremely useful.

---

After the Interview

The interview ended, and the next day I sent a thank-you email.

Even before ending the interview, I told the interviewer that it had been really comfortable talking to her and thanked her for making the interview such a positive experience.

---

Offer Letter

After that, there was no update for almost a month.

During that time, I also interviewed for another EY role called Advanced Audit Associate, which was also hiring ACCA freshers.

Around a month later, I received a form to fill out and there was background verification process.

Within a week, I got my offer letter asking me to join the following week.

There wasn't any salary negotiation. I guess that's because I was a fresher.

HR had casually mentioned the approximate salary during one of the earlier phone calls.

---

So that's basically how I got into EY.

I've been getting a lot of DMs about my process, so I thought I'd put everything in one post.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Happy to help!

Paid 29.5k , No refund , No refund. All misleading leading promises made. Beware of JOBAAJ.

Be cautious about enrolling in Jobaaj's IB course. In my experience, it wasn't worth the investment, and I didn't receive the value I expected. They also did not provide a refund. Make sure you do your research before signing up.

They claim to provide 7 - 14 LPA job at IB , in top MNC , for fresher with 100% garuntee. No one is placed from there firm. Setup is very shady.

They could not even schedule one interview with MNC.

WASTE OF MONEY.

I have paid 29.5k , no refund , no support , no job yet.

All misleading promises only.

Read All reviews before joining them , they have tons of negative review.

There placement statistics is very bad.

Help me plz 😭😭🙏🏻🙏🏻

Guys, I think I messed up. I completed my registration by myself. Since I scored less in Accountancy, I registered through the FIA route. Today, I checked my exam availability, and it's showing FAU, FTX, and FFM. I have no idea what these are. As far as I know, the Knowledge Level exams are on-demand. Can someone please help me? 😭

And one more thing I have paid £30 so far because I didn't get the option to pay the annual subscription fee. It is currently showing 9 exams

Can I record my CA firm training as ACCA PER after completing only 4 papers?

Hi everyone, I recently started training at a CA firm. I have only completed 4 ACCA papers so far. Can I record my training experience as PER, or do I need to wait until I complete more papers? Also, if anyone has any tips or is willing to share their PER experience, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks :)

Reliable Coaching options

I'll be starting from scratch this year in the upcoming months.

So far I've been noticing very negative reviews about the options I've heard about like Zell , Lakshya , IMS proschool etc

I was wondering if anyone who is taking coaching and is happy and satisfied with their coaching and it's way of teaching and faculty could recommend me such reliable options?

University of Greenwich Introduces New BSc (Hons) Applied Accounting & Finance for ACCA Students – In Collaboration with Mirchawala Institute

A new bachelor's degree pathway has been launched for ACCA students through the University of Greenwich in collaboration with Mirchawala. Here's a summary of the programme.

Programme Overview

  • Degree: BSc (Hons) Applied Accounting & Finance
  • Awarding Institution: University of Greenwich, London
  • Delivery: Fully online, distance learning
  • Assessment: 100% assignment-based – no examinations
  • Duration: Can be completed within 12 months by submitting assignments
  • Fee: £1,300 (for reference, the UoL BSc Professional Accountancy was priced at around £3,500)

Eligibility

Open to students who have completed:

  • ACCA Applied Knowledge
  • ACCA Applied Skills

That totals 9 ACCA papers. Both current students and ACCA affiliates/members are eligible

Credit Structure

  • Total: 360 UK credits
  • 240 credits through ACCA Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
  • 120 credits through the four University of Greenwich assignments

Eligibility

  • ACCA Applied Knowledge + Applied Skills completed (9 ACCA papers)
  • Open to current ACCA students as well as ACCA Affiliates/Members

Students complete four university assignments (30 credits each):

  • Corporate Governance & Ethics
  • Investment Management
  • Machine Learning in FinTech
  • Quantitative Finance Research

Additional Points

  • The degree can be used for master's admissions abroad.
  • May also support immigration and visa applications (recommend verifying with relevant authorities).
  • Open to international students – can enroll from anywhere.
  • Intakes/submission windows are in September, January, and May.

This currently seems to be the most affordable route for ACCA students to get a full BSc since OBU is no longer available and the University of London degree is quite expensive.

ACCA AFFILIATE making only 12k per month-In need of emotional support and advice

Hello everyone!! I am 23 y/o graduated in 2023 with BAF and then completeed my ACCA in April' 2026.did some internship in Treasury. Now, recently I got a job in a small CA firm at first they didn't fixed my salary they were like " we will do your review after a month" actually they have hired me as a helping hand like I don't have any particular work , my seniors give me tasks. I came to know now that my salary is 12k pm and they said that they will review it again after 6 months from now.

Guys, I feel so worthless, I have been applying to many jobs even for the jobs where I am over qualified I never get any calls. I really have no idea what I am doing wrong. I see Linked and see people my age or just a bit younger who are just part qualified get into big 4's and good MNCs.Guys, don't get me wrong I am not hating on them but this thing is taking a toll on my mental health recently. For past few months I apply for jobs even at night!! I am scrolling through LinkedIn.

Just want some direction from people who are older than I am. I feel hopeless. Not looking for sympathy. Just looking for some genuine advice which will give my heart some peace.Where am i going wrong??

Honestly, I feel like i will be stuck forever in this.😭🥺.

Thanks in Advance!!! Guys
