Hi All, I'm looking for people who have/have had a A2 style fixed rear sight using a pic rail mounting. I'm looking for something that has integrated elevation and windage controls, but a full on carry handle isn't really required (unless someone has a great reason why it would be better).

So far I've found Ozark Armament for 30.00 and I'm skeptical of that price point. I also found Leapers UTG at 70.00 which seems more in the range of some quality sight. (links below)

To be fair I'm looking for any first hand knowledge of good products, and maybe a couple of options to add to my UTG only option I'm rocking now.

I’m picking up my first rifle tomorrow after work, it was an online thing shipped to a FFL. I’ve been wondering what to check to make sure there’s no obvious defects or shenanigans.

All I have so far is “work the charging handle a couple times, to see if it’s gritty” and “check the finish for obvious defects.” quite honestly that doesn’t seem like enough, i check my tomato’s at the grocery store harder than that.

It won’t have sights and there is no range in the store I’m picking it up, so live fire is not an option, and I don’t know what I don’t know.

Any tips, for a noob who won’t know his ass from a hole in the ground? Maybe a checklist of what to look at prior to signing anything?
