Looking for a Tangier local to help identify historic photo locations in the Medina
Hi everyone,
For my masters internship, I’m currently researching a photo series made by Dutch photographer Willem van de Poll in Morocco during the mid-20th century. On May 30-31, I’ll be staying in Tangier to try to locate the exact places where these photos were taken and gather some basic metadata and historical context about them. The collection is part of the Dutch National Archives.
I’m looking for someone who:
- knows the medina of Tangier well,
- speaks Darija and English,
- and would be interested in helping me explore and identify locations from the photographs, but overall to have a fun time
