Hey all,

My father needs to move into an assisted living facility and the process is rather daunting. Has anyone had experiences with facilities they’d like to share? Where is good, where to avoid?

My dad is decently mobile with a cane, but needs some assistance with his everyday tasks. SS is his only source of income and he has no savings. I also do not have any additional money to pay for care. His house has become a hoarder situation, and we’re not hopeful that we’ll get much out of it after repairs.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Hello friends, how do y’all deal with guests who are rude when you card them? This exchange happened with me tonight:

(I work in an Italian fine dining restaurant)

Young guy comes into the restaurant with mirrored aviators and a trucker hat, blows past the host and bellies up to the bar. Doesn’t sit down, just leans over. Does not remove his sunglasses.

“Gimme an Aperol spritz.”

“Sure! May I see your ID?”

“What, you don’t trust me?”

I don’t respond to this.

“Not off to a good start” as he’s digging for his wallet.

“We can go ahead and finish if you’d like,” I smiled.

(He did not think this was funny)

Shoves his whole wallet in my face.

“Would you mind taking it out for me?”

Apparently the ID was too hard to remove, so he turned around and left.

He was quite bald judging from the photo I saw.

Honestly, good riddance. One of my biggest pet peeves is when someone is an asshole about being carded. How do y’all deal with these jerks? Anyone got a good story?
