That Was Fast

Somehow Pom managed to get my BPI order out very quick lol even on a Sunday after a holiday??? The Pharmacy Hub is always efficient but I’m just in shock that with all of the issues with the new portal they somehow managed to send my prescription off in a timely manner.

What’s The Next Best Step?

25 F, 5’8, 185lbs

I’ve been struggling with MDD and more since I was 14 and I am now 25. Since then I’ve seen multiple psychiatrists and have been in and out of therapy and have been on way too many different medications.

I’ve been diagnosed with MDD, GAD, BPD, Bipolar type 2, OCD, PTSD, ADHD, PAD, and an episode of psychosis. I’m unsure which diagnoses are correct and which ones are misdiagnosed, as many have been diagnosed by different psychiatrists after assessments and some were diagnosed during hospital stays.

I’ve been admitted to a psychiatric hospital 3 times; only 1 admission was involuntary the rest were voluntary due to severe suicidal ideation. I have attempted suicide once, back in 2021. I did go to the ER but I was not honest about what happened, so I was not admitted.

Right now, I am prescribed Adderall XR 30mg, Lexapro 10mg, and Xanax 1mg PRN. I’ve been taking my Xanax maybe 3-5 times a week for the past month, which is more than in the past (0-3 times a week).

I asked my psychiatrist if I could try Prozac again because it was one of the medications that helped a lot before it became ineffective at the max dose. She wanted to hold off on that until my potassium levels have stabilized because I’ve been having low potassium for most of this year (2.7-3.0 have been my K levels). She also didn’t want to increase my Lexapro back to 20mg either.

Before asking to go back on Prozac, she did write a script for me for Luvox. But after doing some research, the thought of dealing with fatigue on top of my excessive sleepiness sounds like a horrible idea. I’m already having a hard time functioning day to day with oversleeping and adding a layer of fatigue on top of that worries me. So I never picked up the prescription and sent her an email about my concerns.

Over the past year I’ve just had no interest in absolutely anything just pure anhedonia, except for a random exacerbation of OCD starting last November. OCD has never been a big problem for me, but the last 8-9 months it’s been quite distressing.

Spravato has been recommended to me, but my psychiatrist is more focused on my OCD right now so she hasn’t mentioned it lately.

A past psychiatrist, who I was seeing for about 5 years did suggest ECT to me. At the time I did think it wasn’t necessary, but now I’m desperate for anything that can give me even the slightest improvement. Unfortunately that psychiatrist passed away just a few months after he suggested ECT to me.

For reference these are all of the medications I have tried:

Abilify
Adderall
Ambien
Ativan
Buspar
Celexa
Cymbalta
Effexor
Gabapentin
Hydroxyzine
Lamictal
Lexapro
Propranolol
Pristiq
Prozac
Remeron
Rexulti
Risperdal
Ritalin
Sonata
Trazodone
Trintellix
Viibryd
Vraylar
Vyvanse
Wellbutrin
Xanax

Most of them were effective to some degree but the effectiveness didn’t last long even after reaching the max dose and being augmented with another medication.

The only ones I can remember that were not helpful were Zoloft, which made me numb and zombie like and happened to be the first antidepressant I tried. Lamictal, it made me cry all the time no matter if I was happy or sad. And then Rexulti, it was very effective at the beginning but later on into my treatment I started getting very severe suicidal ideation and entered a hypomanic state.

Where do I go from here? I’m desperate and I need things to change. I can’t stand to stay in this numb state any longer.

Thanks…. but no thanks

Nordstrom rack bathroom….

Thanks for like disposing of your needles/syringes properly but like stop burdening others.

There are free sharps containers that will ship directly to you and Novo even offers a free sharps container that comes with a free shipping return label.

It’s not that hard.

13 Days Later!

I requested my refill on June 4th and paid my $75 dollars. Then I was charged $10 dollars before receiving my $94 dollar invoice. Which came out to $179 when I selected BPI 68mg vial listed for $169.

A little annoyed but posted on this sub due to the inability to even see my order in the new portal on my phone and the very long wait period before it was actually sent to the pharmacy (2 days ago on 6/15).

Cherry said she’d help with the prescription being sent to pharmacy (she didn’t) and then I questioned the additional $10 dollar charge and she gave me misinformation before the screenshot I provided jogged her memory.

I did receive my $10 dollar refund lol.

My prescription was never sent to the pharmacy until I texted Pom’s number and asked for a status update on Sunday. I received my tracking number on Monday and then received my meds today on Wednesday.

While I still don’t mind using Pom, I’m going to hold off on reordering from them until the new portal has been all sorted out with bugs fixed and glitches resolved.

My phone is not showing the updated delivered status, but when I use Chrome on my MacBook it shows up (Safari probably doesn’t seem to be fully compatible and integrated with the new portal as of now).

But what can you expect from a woman named “Cherry”working for a telehealth provider called “Pomegranate.”

Pharmacies NEED to do better in the Summer!

I’ve noticed a few pharmacies that use 2 day shipping but of course that shipping is specifically for business days and does not include weekend or holiday delivery. They choose this 2 business day shipping and then ship off their packages on a Friday, which means they will not be delivered until the following Tuesday.

I’ve experienced this a few times myself and the first 2 occasions were no biggie as the vials were just room temperature, but yesterday the vial I received was hot. It was delivered to my front door and sat in direct sunlight for hours on a 105F degree day.

I’ve read all about how warm tirzepatide is safe to use and can even be stored at room temperature for up to 21 days. But my order was shipped across the country and was in transit for 4 whole days in unknown temperatures, when cold shipping is only good for up to 48 hours.

Even if tirzepatide is as resilient as people say, there’s still the quality concern in regard to the preservative used. Specifically benzyl alcohol or bacteriostatic water.

Extreme temperatures can degrade the benzyl alcohol rendering it less effective; or not effective at all. Benzyl alcohol is what prohibits the growth of bacteria in multi use vials, which is HIGHLY important.

This is concerning because contamination of injectable medications can cause serious medical events.

I’ve seen multiple tests proving that tirzepatide loses very little potency when exposed to extreme temperatures, but those tests prove to show how the preservative is still effective at inhibiting bacterial growth and allowing the multi use vials to still be safe for use.

What Just Happened????

I just got home from work and followed my typical skincare routine (wash face + moisturizer) both from LRP. 20 minutes later I went to the restroom to put on my Tretinoin and noticed my face is bright red?????

It’s not irritated, there’s no burning, stinging, or itchiness. And I have very oily and resilient skin. I do use 0.05% Tretinoin gel daily and have for months after previously using 0.1% Tretinoin cream (switched to gel due to the greasy feeling from cream).

Both LRP are not new bottles.

I already have a follow up with my derm this week which is very convenient, but I’m so puzzled at this reaction????

My last weight loss journey because I genuinely cannot do this again #MaintenanceEra

I’ve literally tried EVERY fad diet ever since I was 13 and I have lost the same weight way too many times. Losing weight is easy but keeping it off has always been a struggle. I refuse to let myself go again, and if that means being on Tirz for life then so be it ;)

My Unconventional/OCD Storage System

Pop top pill bottles, silica gel desiccants, and my beloved label maker 🤍💉

All of the labels have the pharmacy name, BUD, additive, and measurements for my dose. Along with color coded stickers on top for each pharmacy.

I did keep all of the prescription bottles and boxes that my vials initially came in just in case I need them at some point.

While I use my vials I’ll still be getting Zepbound each month with $0 copay (kinda wish I would’ve tried another prior auth BEFORE stocking up on compound since my insurance just started covering it earlier this year) so who knows how long my supply will truly last.

Yes I will admit that I definitely did go overboard, but I plan on being on Tirz indefinitely and with compounding being vulnerable I figured that I’d rather be safe with a supply than be SOL and not have access to it.

Billing Discrepancy/Issue with Telehealth Services

I had 2 visits with a telehealth service and I was under the impression that I would have a no more than a $50 copay for both visits as I have already met my annual deductible and the telehealth showed my copay to only be $50 dollars if I was seeing a specialist. I believe I was just seeing a general practitioner for a doctor visit and that shows a $0 copay.

Yet here I am hit with a $280 bill ($140 per visit). I asked them to also bill my secondary insurance as well, and they stated they are unable to bill secondary insurances.

I went to my patient portal for my secondary insurance and was trying to figure out how to submit a claim myself, but my plan does not allow members to do that.

What can I do to erase this bill or at least lower it significantly?

Do I need to file a grievance or complaint somewhere or are there other routes to solve this issue?

Where Did My Order Go???

I placed an asynchronous refill order in the new portal and paid the $75 dollars plus $94 which equals the $169 for the 68mg option I selected and my order is not showing up in the portal. Also, I was charged an additional $10 dollars … why?

Affordable Dental Care Options?

I’m on Medicaid and the dental plan only covers an annual dental exam. I got my exam done a few weeks ago and I need quite a bit of work done as I have not even had a cleaning in about 6 years.

For Medicaid they only cover procedures if you’re under 21 or if you’re pregnant. I am 25 and not pregnant and do not plan on getting pregnant anytime soon.

For starters, I need a deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) along with multiple fillings. I am also in need of getting my permanent retainer fixed or replaced as it’s been 10 years since I’ve had it and part of it is lifting up and no longer adhered to my tooth. I know that’s orthodontic work, which I also have absolutely no coverage for.

Does anyone have any suggestions for affordable offices for dental work and orthodontic work? If they offer nitrous oxide that would also be helpful as I have an extreme fear of dentists.

The dentist I went to for my exam told me to apply for Care Credit, but I doubt I would be approved for anything near the amount I need, plus my credit score is poor so I may not even get approved for anything.

Also, does anyone have any experience with UNLV’s dental clinic or orthodontic clinic? I’ve been looking at that as an option but I don’t believe they have payment plans, which would be helpful for me.

Thanks in advance :)
