DIY Mattress Build - Does This Look Right?
Hey! I am looking to get a nice mattress but I don't want to spend 2-3k on getting a high end one. I really liked some of top-of-line tempurpedic and the firm purple ones (forgot the exact model though). I am 170lb, 5'11, and I sleep primarily on my side. I've done a bunch of research (aka with chat gpt and othe reddit threads) and I've created a build I think I can use to get close to the hugging/kinetic sand feeling that tempurpedic gives. I've never built a mattress before so I'd appreciate any help/guidance! Here is my build:
- 3" 5-lb ViscoMAX - dense, slow pressure relief
- 2" Poly Foam - softer transition
- 2" HD36-HQ - firmer transition
- 5" LUX-HQ - very firm support core
This is all from Foam Factory and I included a screenshot of the exact products I intend to buy. Any help is greatly appreciated! :)
