How long is the welcome week?

Quick question! I’m trying to plan when to come back to campus. How long are the Weeks of Welcome for freshmen? Is it one week or two?

Is new owl experience worth it?

Hi everyone!
I’m an incoming freshman at fox, and I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth coming back early for the New Owl Experience.
Here’s my situation: I’m currently in my home country with my family, and we hadn’t seen each other for about 7 months before I came back. The last New Owl Experience session is on July 29, so I’d have to leave my family earlier than I’d planned if I wanted to attend. Otherwise, I’d probably come back around August 5, which should still give me time for the orientation activities before classes start.
The thing is, I’m already pretty familiar with Temple’s campus. I attended Temple’s English Language Institute for about 21 weeks, so I know my way around, rarely get lost, and I’ve already experienced campus life to some extent.
I was really excited about attending New Owl Experience because I thought it would be a good way to meet people before classes start. But now I’m wondering if it’s worth giving up that extra week with my family.
For those of you who attended New Owl Experience, do you think it’s worth coming back early in my situation? Do you feel like you gained something you couldn’t have gotten during Welcome Week or the first couple of weeks of the semester?
I’d really appreciate hearing your experiences. Thanks!

Looking for a gen ed in my first semester at fox

Hi everyone! I'm an incoming freshman at Fox majoring in accounting and I'm trying to choose my first Gen-Ed (Human Behavior).
My schedule will probably include STAT 1001, ENG 0812, BA classes (BBA/BA requirements), and ECON, so I'm really trying to keep my first semester balanced.
I originally chose Youth Culture during peer advising because I wanted something lighter, but after reading all the course descriptions, Interpersonal Communication caught my attention. It actually sounds really interesting to me and useful in real life.
The thing is, my peer advisor (a senior) told me she wouldn't recommend Interpersonal Communication, and now I'm confused 😭
I'm honestly looking for a Gen-Ed that's:
interesting/captivating

relatively light

not heavy on writing

not super "prise de tête" / overthinking all the time

manageable with an accounting schedule

For people who took Human Behavior classes at Temple, what would you recommend? Was Interpersonal Communication actually a lot of work? How was Youth Culture? Any other GB classes you think fit what I'm looking for?
