What kind of meal plan do you recommend?

I’m currently at 12 a week and thinking about going up to 15 swipes, but I’ve been told that I don’t need it considering all the food options around Temple.

Any advice for a 28yo freshman?

Hey, I’m Theo, 28M, and this is my third attempt at college overall (fall 2016 at ESU as a theatre major, fall & spring 2024 at CCP as an art & design major) and I’m mostly looking for advice because of how much being in a classroom setting has changed in a decade.

Does anyone still hand-write their notes, or is it expected to have a laptop with you in class? I have no issues with needing a laptop for class, I just feel like i dont retain anything when typing my notes vs taking them by hand.
Any general “surviving college as a working adult” advice is also VERY welcome

I’m also posting this to see if there’s also anyone here thats 25+ and getting back into school because I’d like to meet more people my age, and I’d be lying if I said I’m not mildly self conscious about the fact that im going to be roughly a decade older than the majority of my peers 😅

Here’s my class schedule in case anyone that sees this is gonna be a classmate of mine:

ENG 2096
Monday & Wednesday 9:30-10:45am in Mazur 1122
Michael Kaufmann

Philadelphia Arts & Culture
Monday & Wednesday 1-1:50pm in Mazur 007
Friday 2-2:50 in Mazur 204
Bench Ansfield

French 1001 Sect. 701
Monday & Wednesday 2-3:15pm Gladfelter 604
Laura Spagnoli

Engaging Places: Observations

Transfer/off campus meal plan

Hiya, so I’m transferring to temple this fall and will be living off campus. If you live off campus, do you think it’s worth it to have a meal plan, like the smallest amount even? Me and my parents were debating and I’m interested in what others think, like if they got a meal plan and if they used it or not.

!!WARNING!! Peabody/Tailgate Sports Bar = GLU Hospitality

If you’re excited for Peabody to FINALLY be opening up, don’t expect it to last long...

GLU hospitality opened it last year and abruptly shut down because they have an investigation with the department of labor for wage theft, they have multiple liens against them from the city for taxes, and judgements / lawsuits against them from landlords and investors. In an article Derek Gibbons said “new investors” took over, but was caught months later operating it because of employees filing complaints about not being paid. Former employees claim Derek Gibbons and Tommy Brunton allegedly transferred venues to Garis Eddington in an attempt to hide assets from creditors. Garis says he has no affiliation to GLU but refuses to explain how he took over numerous GLU venues (during multiple active lawsuits) or answer if Tommy and Derek are still involved with the business. He opened Tailgate a month ago and multiple employees have already filed new complaints with the Department of Labor about wage theft. If Garis can’t publicly explain how he acquired these venues or who’s involved it will most likely get shut down from pure incompetence on top of all the other shady stuff behind the scenes.

Construction contractors flying far right/racist flag off their scaffolding

On the Ritter annex hall some roofing or construction contractors are flying what I’m 99% sure is the three percent far right flag. Is there somewhere to report something like this? I understand freedom of speech but this is a flag that is used by extremist hate groups and should absolutely not represent any contracted affiliates of temple university

Socio-Cultural Foundations of Ed/Past Syllabus

Hello! I took Socio-Cultural Foundations of Education (EDUC 2903) with David Bromley in Spring of 2019 and I am looking for a copy of the syllabus as I apply for grad school. I know it’s a long shot but does anyone have this syllabus? The class is not listed on Canvas and Bromley doesn’t teach at Temple anymore so I’m not sure who to reach out to. TIA

I legit only need 20 suitable points left for the 2025-2026 year, I slacked off this year whoops. One thing I hate is, when I do the self report they take a LONG time to review it. I only did one task which is exactly 20 points back in May and ugh, they have yet to give me my points, do any of y'all know an activity that will give you points asap idk I am not trying fret about it but aye.

edit: the library ones are a scam, I did like 2 of them and never showed me a QR code at the end only a certificate of completion rip.
