advisor do your job challenge (impossible!)

I am so sick of working with an advisor to build my class schedule and then anytime you try to follow up with them, they send you the link on how to set up an appointment.

It would quite literally have taken you less time to answer my question than it did to send your shitty passive aggressive email.

A student of mine was accepted into the Fox School of Business, but needs some help

Good Afternoon,

I am a teacher at John Harris HS in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. I have a student (soon-to-be valedictorian, hard worker, and a great kid) get accepted into the honors program at Temple's Fox School of Business (going into accounting). The only thing is, she needs some help to make it work. After numerous scholarships, she is $16k shy of tuition, room & board and is trying her hardest to bridge that gap.

If you are financially able to, and have it in your heart to help her make her dream come true, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. If not, please spread the word.

Here is more to her story: https://gofund.me/c971de4d5

Thank you! I apologize if this isn't allowed but, as her teacher, I am trying my hardest to help her reach her goals past HS.

I know you can't be enrolled at community college and temple at the same time, but what about during the summer?

I want to take some gen-eds at the nearby Montgomery County CC to save some money. could i maybe just do it in the summer? I'm still in high school so I'm not really sure how it all works and whether that's allowed or not.

Hi everyone,

You are recommended to take part in the 'AI Use in College Learning Survey.' This study will help us learn more about the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in your college learning process and the role that these tools shape your academic experiences.

This research is being conducted with a professor in Ocean County College.

This survey is voluntary; if you decide to take part in this survey, you will be asked to answer eighteen (18) questions (17 multiple-choice questions and one short response question), which will take around 10-15 minutes to complete.

You can find the survey here:

- By clicking this link AI Use in College Learning Survey, to access it directly.

- By copying and pasting this URL https://forms.gle/ZubsCJabNRVLpVhA7.

If you are not currently enrolled in any college or university, then you are not advised to take part in this survey. Nevertheless, you are encouraged to share this survey with an eligible respondent.

Before responding here are some important things to note before attempting the survey.

The questions included will be related to:

  • Your academic background (only includes your age group, academic level, and area of study)
  • Frequency of AI tools used and which tools you use
  • Uses of AI in your academic studies
  • Your opinions about the use of AI tools in learning and academic achievements
  • View about academic integrity and concerns related with the use of AI tools

Please note that:

  • All data you provided will be kept confidential and will not identify you in any way.
  • Only information related to your age, academic level, and your major will be collected.
  • Information including your email, name, gender, where you study, and other sensitive information will not be collected.
  • The software 'Google Forms' will require you to sign in for you to complete the survey; we will not collect your email addresses.
  • You have the option to skip certain questions and leave the survey at any time you want, and there will be no consequences for you if you decide not to answer the questions.
  • You will not be entered into any draws for prizes. There is no financial incentive to complete this survey.

We appreciate your time and cooperation.

Regards,

A student from Ocean County College

I’m about to take my math placement exam to pick my courses but I haven’t taken a math class in like 3 years. I know nothing on this study guide and I’m fully ok with not doing well on the exam, but I don’t wanna be set back too far. What’s the lowest math level?

Reminder to Rate your Landlords and Professors

As everyone heads home for summer, I just wanted to take a second to reflect on the past year at MSU. East Lansing always has a way of turning chaos into memories somehow.

This year was a mix of late nights, random memories, stressful moments, great people, and a lot of lessons learned. Now that classes and finals are mostly behind us, it feels like the perfect time to leave some honest feedback that could help other students next semester.

If you lived off-campus this year, especially if you dealt with a landlord or property company, consider sharing your experience on https://judgemylandlord.com . Good landlords deserve recognition, and bad ones shouldn’t keep getting away with ruining students’ housing situations. Your review could genuinely help another student avoid signing a nightmare lease next year.

And if you haven’t already, take a few minutes to review your professors on https://www.ratemyprofessors.com too. A lot of students rely on those reviews when choosing classes, and honestly, the professor you get can completely change your experience in a course.

We have way more power as students than we think. Sharing honest experiences makes college life more transparent for everyone coming after us.

Hope everyone has an amazing summer, stays safe, and enjoys the break. And congrats again to all the graduating seniors ❤️

Best place to find reliable off campus housing near Temple?

Hey! I’m an incoming sophomore at Temple and I’m trying to figure out whether off-campus or on-campus housing is the better move for me. I’m a Philly native and currently commute, but honestly I’m getting really tired of it and want to move closer to campus next year.

I’m a 19 year old female marketing major and I’m not really sure where to start looking for reliable off-campus housing options that aren’t insanely expensive. If anyone has advice on the best websites/groups/areas to look into, or if anyone is looking for a roommate, lmk!

I’d also appreciate hearing from people who chose either on-campus or off-campus housing and whether they regretted it or not lol

Worried about safety in 2026

My son will be attending TU this fall, and I am worried about his safety, the safety on campus and off. I read a lot of posts about it but they were posted around 2-6 years ago on this page. How safe is TU nowadays? Please and thank you.

so how did yall make friends

Hey guys! I’m a 18 y/o male at temple and as yall know we just wrapped up the year. I noticed that by the end of last semester, it kinda seemed like everyone’s made lots of friends, and sadly I can’t rlly say the same for myself. I will say that I wasn’t rlly active on campus events or weekend life, often choosing the go to the rec or gym over both and in terms of weekends, I’d always rather be in a club. does anyone have any advise to help me for my sophomore semester?!

Best Teacher for Organic Chem I

Serge Jasmin or Steven A. Fleming?

I took Serge, he's great with curves but ended up withdrawing because I felt like I wasn't going to pass. On the other note Fleming has a pretty high score on ratemyprofesor so I don't really know who to choose.

I scored less than 50% on my exams and got a C on the finals for FYI.

Looking for friends to go out n have fun over the summer!

Hi, I’m a recent grad (23F) staying on campus over the summer for my job. Most of my friends graduated and have left the city so I’m hoping to make some new friends over the summer who are interested in wine nights and clubbing/partying.

I love to paint (and I also do embroidery) and read, so if you’re interested in these I’d love to meet up with you!

I made a short film about an Asian teen hustling people on LA courts by leaning into stereotypes - it just dropped on Omeleto

Growing up outside Atlanta, basketball was everything to me. But no matter how much I loved the game, I could always feel people sizing up my Asian face - assuming I was good at math, bad at sports.

So I made a film about it. It's a 10-minute comedy about three teens in LA who hustle people on the basketball court by leaning into stereotypes. Think "White Men Can't Jump" but with an Asian lead.

It officially dropped on Omeleto today. As an indie creator, the first 24 hours matter a lot! If you have 10 minutes, it would mean the world - likes and comments help a ton too.

Any people around for the summer?

Hi! I’m looking for some friends to spend time with over the summer. I’m a commuter student so I felt like I lost a lot of time to spend on social life and I’m curious if anyone will be around this summer and wants to be friends!

I’m LGBT friendly and would love to meet some like minded people as well

Trying to meet new ppl

Hi guys, I’m a 23F and a Recent Temple grad working full time around Philly and trying to meet new people this summer since most of my friends moved away/became busy.

I’m into badminton/pickleball, trying new food spots, cafes, walks, and random chill hangouts after work or on weekends.

If anyone’s in a similar spot or wants to hang sometime, hmu :)
