Coming back to REUs in the future?

I just completed an REU and had a great experience. It was said by the PI that I could be added as a co-author onto their upcoming paper, which is both crazy and SO exciting. I also casually expressed interest in coming back next summer while small talking with the lab, and the PI said they'd love to see me again. However, I'm planning on ultimately applying for med school and am already in a lab at my actual university (the REU happened at a different university than the one I go to). Would it look like I'm flip-flopping labs on my AMCAS application if I came back?

Biostats vs Calc 2?

I can either take STAT 4625 (Introduction to Biostatistics) with Elizabeth Schifano, or MATH 1132Q (Calc 2) with David McArdle. I have a very full semester so I'm hoping to take the easier class of the two. Which is easier??

How to choose a research opportunity

I interviewed for two different wet labs at my university, and applied to a couple of REUs. I ended up getting into both wet labs and an Ivy League REU. Wet Lab A would pay me for the summer, and I'd continue in the fall, so I wouldn't be able to do the REU. Wet Lab B begins in the fall, so I'd be able to do the REU. I'm equally interested in both research topics that both wet labs are doing. I haven't really gotten the chance to talk much with either PI (only the grad students), and both wet labs haven't updated their lab pages since 2020 so I have no idea if their current or past undergraduates were able to co-author. Idk how to make my decision, any advice would be so appreciated

High hospital volunteering hours - is it bad? Is it clinical?

I have ~1300 volunteer hours from one hospital and ~250 at another. Without going into specifics, these positions were not the typical "fly on the wall" types of hospital volunteering that a lot of people do (ex: restocking, guiding guests). I was directly in contact with patients and speaking with patients, offering books/puzzles to keep their time, reading with them, doing other activities with them in their rooms, etc. For intubated patients, I was keeping a notebook of everything that happened during their stay, from family visits to the weather outside to patient status, so that when they wake up, they can use it to piece together their memory. HOWEVER, I was in no way administering any actual medicine, just there as a therapeutic tool.

Does this count as clinical or nonclinical?

Either way, I have seen online that there tends to be a stigma against "clinical volunteering" because a lot of the time, you're just doing random stuff that has no patient interaction. I don't want to come across like I just stood around for a million hours doing nothing, because I was genuinely always interacting with patients during my shifts. Any tips for avoiding looking like this stereotype??

Munsch SOCI 1001

How was this class with Munsch and does anyone have tips for getting through the class?? Also, does anyone have the readings so that I can do them in advance (I'm taking a lot of credits next semester so I want to try to get as ahead as possible)??
