Which doorbell camera works well without a subscription?

I'm looking for a doorbell camera, but I really don't want another monthly fee just to see who came to the door. I don't mind paying more upfront if it means the basic features actually work without being locked behind a subscription.

Mainly want it for package deliveries, motion alerts, and checking the front door when I'm not home. Clear video, decent night vision, and reliable notifications matter more to me than fancy extras.

I've seen a few that offer local storage, but the reviews are all over the place. Some people say they work great without paying monthly, others say the free version is basically useless.

For anyone using a doorbell camera without a subscription, which one did you go with? Are you still happy with it, or did you end up needing the paid plan anyway?

Is it dumb to buy Instagram followers if you only do it in small amounts?

I know buying followers gets a lot of hate, and I get why. Nobody wants a page full of fake accounts that never engage. But at the same time, growing from zero feels brutal when people judge your page in two seconds and a low follower count makes it look less serious.

I’m not talking about buying 10k overnight or trying to fake being an influencer. More like a small boost just so the page doesn’t look completely dead while the real content is still growing.

Has anyone here bought Instagram followers in a way that didn’t completely mess up reach or engagement? Did it actually help with social proof, or did it just make the account look worse over time?

I’m trying to figure out if there’s a smart way to do it slowly, or if it’s one of those things that always backfires no matter how careful you are.

What home security system is actually worth getting?

I’m looking into getting a home security system and I’m a bit overwhelmed by all the options. Some people say DIY systems are enough, others say professional monitoring is worth it, and then there are cameras, sensors, doorbells, subscriptions, apps, and a million different brands.

I mostly want something reliable for basic peace of mind. Door sensors, motion alerts, a decent camera setup, and an app that doesn’t constantly glitch would be ideal. I don’t need anything super complicated, but I also don’t want cheap stuff that misses obvious alerts.

For anyone who has a home security system, what are you using and would you choose it again?
